Drizzt killed by a bat!

The funniest thing just happened to me while in bohdi's lair chapter 6. I ran in with my thief/fighter in stealth mode and started backstabbing everything like I normally do. There was a bat flying around and I back stabbed it but couldn't seem to hurt it. After I hit it turned from blue to red then later on Drizzt attacked it and he couldn't damage it either but he wouldn't give up and all the vamps in the room killed him while he was trying to kill this little bat. I looted his stuff but that wizard still came and took it from me later.

Do you get the equipment of Drizzt and his Party if you descide to fight him... or does that mage come then??? Cuz I have a feeling he wouldnt.... I duno.... And cant you dump the stuff you loot down in Bodhis lair on the ground right before that mage asks for it....??? Daemn

He will come and get it no matter what you do.

Yes, no matter what you do he comes for it. If you drop it right when he teleports in he will leave but as soon as you pick it back up he comes back and this time he attacks. I even tried importing it in with the hack program and as soon as the game loads he comes for it.

It wasn't really the bat that killed him was it then? More like the old bait and switch.

Bat lures Drizzt, hordes of blood-sucking vampires crawl over Drizzt, Drizzt becomes lifeless walking corpse.

Hmm, Well the bat was the one that lured him so I would consider him the mastermind of the plot, therefore he is guilty of Drizzt's death!

Whats up with that anyway...I know the eq is decent but why the heck is it so important that you cannot loot Drizzt??

Drizzt's armor is a great item for a thief character. You can hide in shadows with it on. There is only 2 other sets of armor in the game that I have found that are its equal, and that's shadow dragon plate and drow +5 admantite, but that only lasts while your in the underdark. Also a +5 scimitar that gives you +2 ac is pretty good...

Yup ... a +5 scimitar with +3 to hit & damage, strange?

In my last(only) game I killed Drizzt & the gang. I took their all of their stuff including those of the dreaded Drizzt and walked straight to Trademeet. When in trademeet I sold all of the stuff for a nice amount of coin (including all stuff drizzt left behind). Later in the game, I think 2 chapters later, the mage pops up and says 'blaa-blaa-blaa I need his equipment' and in the dialog window the text 'the party has lost an item' text appears. I was a bit amazed ... Then again, I was even more amazed when next time walking in the woods I got to kill Drizzt & the gang again.

This I did not know .You had to fight Drizzt twice in BG2?

Yep, though after the 2nd time I reloaded before the fight and it didn't appear that time. At that point I was almost finished and just wanted to get it over with (to start over with a new chr...) so I didn't experiment with it further.
