I want them back =(

Post by Sir_Greyhawk »

Quite a while ago, I had both Kotors. Then I traded them both in to buy a Nintendo DS (What a mistake that was), and now, having played Kotor 2 again at a friends house, I want them both back :( . I never did play out all the different posibilities, and they're such good games, you can play either over and over and never get bored or play the exact game twice. I think I have enough to go to a gameshop and buy one of each, If not just #1. I allways liked that one better, Even though the mission on Dantoine where you have to help that settlement fend off the mercenaries on #2 kicks ash.

I think you'll find, that when you can scrape together enough moeny to purchase both of them, you'll soon get bored again. My advice; go second hand.

Totally agree, for II, anyway. If you can still find KOTOR1 at a store, it must be pretty cheap by now, though. But yeah, you can probably eBay these for a song right about now.

I'm not so sure. I'm currently on my 8th full run through KOTOR2, and not remotely bored, with several more runs through for different goals still in mind. KOTOR1, though, I'm completely bored with after only 3 tries.

The main reason, I think, is that in KOTOR there is an optimal way to do things. There's only one order to the planets that gets you all the quests, all the items are the same, etc. Once you've figured out the best way, there's nothing left to replay for. Plus, the level cap means it's not worth taking the trouble to squeeze out every ast bit of XP.

With KOTOR2, there's no single optimal route. Whatever you do, you'll have to compromise somewhere between INF, alignment, XP. You can't do the perfect game, so you keep trying :) Maybe this time round I can get a few more (legitimate) XP points than ever before. Maybe I can get a Mira with Dark Mastery. Maybe I can find better crystals. Maybe I can keep my Mastery intact once I get it. Maybe...

Incidentally, Asda in the UK are currently selling KOTOR2 for UKP9.97. I don't know about other countries; maybe Walmart are too, as they are the same company?

Well K2 does have more replayability, although K1 is better first time round, because it has a great storyline. So if you've already played KOTOR I, Greyhawk, go for KOTOR II, it can't be that dare anymore.

Go to Walmart. I know my local Walmart still has KOTOR 1 on the shelf.

:D :D :D
I went to a gameshop found both of them and bought them.
Can you belive TSL is still £20? #1 was £10. only £30 on the whole, Not bad for two top notch games? Though I'm having problems with #1, It looks like my graphic card can't handle the plains of dantoine, Its a little twitchy on TSL dantoine but #1 is ridiculous. Its strange because I never had the slightest problems when I first did it, and it was on Medium graphic requirements, not its on the lowest possible and its spacking out, and TSL has less far less twitchy-ness. Has #1 got more graphic requirments than TSL?

Have you turned the 'grass' option off? Most decent cards should be able to handle it then.

Yep, Like I said, I made it the lowest possible.

Heh heh, as i said:

[quote="Me]Greyhawk"]

Edit: hmm...

[quote="Alcina]Let me guess: your card is an Nvidia GForce?

Several people's posts have led me to believe these just don't agree with KOTOR2. There is a way round it; I managed to beat the game 10 times in spite of it...

Yeah, thats my Card. Though it seems it only has a problem with Dantoine plains. Everyone I can walk around fine everywhere else and as soon as I get to dantoine.... Ive had to skip out all the bonus missions and get of that planet as soon as I could. I didnt even get to go to the crystal caves :(

Don't worry man... KOTOR one and two are selling pretty cheap now... which is kind of annoying me considering I bought both mine for a good $100.00 a couple years back.

But yeah, they're going cheap now so you should be able to buy your games back.
