problems on stacking up the magic resistance

I don't know if this is a bug or a common thing, but my keldorn is having problems on keeping his magic resistance right!

I let keldorn wears magic resist amulet, ring of Gaxx, and Holy avenger. So his magic resistance should be 70% all the time, right? No, his magic resistance always goes back to 50% and I have to reequip the amulet and ring to get the full 70%. A pain since I have to remember constantly before going into a combat. Anyone else has the same problem?

BTW, anyone knows what happens if you deny Imonen to join your party in spellhold?

I have no idea how to manage the resistance stacking bug but if you ask Imoen to take a hike when you finally manage to save her then she'll end up in the Copper Coronet.
