Please put a SPOILER in the thread title of something like this--as the sticky thread says. I'll change this one. You have to take care of future ones.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
Actually, I think you have that switched around. Thoronir's prices are much lower than everyone else, and the local society wants to know why. If you speak to him about it, he will deny everything. Wait until he closes his store, though, and follow him until he has a late-night meeting. That should put you on the right track.

Been there, done that...
I'm the husband of ZoeyAnnika. She can't get her password to work, so here I am.
Wev'e followed Thoronir several times since buying the game... each time, Thoronir goes to a small courtyard where he meets Agarmir. In every case we've seen, they just stand there... ALL NIGHT LONG! Even when we sneak up on them through the passageway behind them (and there's no way they know we're there), no matter how long we wait, they never say anything, and no extra person ever joins them.
Agarmir will consistently deny he knows Thoronir, yet he stands (in the rain, often) with him all night. So that's fishy, but there's no progress being made.
A couple of attempts have noticed Thoronir going to the Arboretum to meet with a woman; Thoronir said something about a woman named Irene.
The attempt before this one noticed Edgar walking to the courtyard where T and A meet, and as he has similarly bargain-basement prices we are suspicious of him as well. But he just walked through the courtyard and entered his shop.
So, we're stuck we feel...

That did it!
Ok, there's a green bush (no flowers) right next to where they are standing, and on sneak, it shows they can see you entirely. My wife even walked up right next to them trying out locations (without being on sneak!) and that was the right spot, and they started talking.
So even though it doesn't make sense... that's where you have to go... the green bush right next to them... even though they can see you the whole time.
Thanks very much!

Final results for those considering completing this quest
Completion of the quest takes a while, but here's the results so you can decide if following up is worth it.
Your reward from Jensine is small, BUT there are some nice items you get as gifts and spoils.
Net profit:
100 gold from Jensine;
Ring w/ 10% resist frost & 10% resist fire, worth 1100 gold (more than the amulet of kings, ironically);
NICE sword (Debaser, one handed), damage of 2, drains willpower 5 pts for 20 seconds on strike, drains endurance same level & duration, worth 528 gold.
In addition, you can loot the armor off the guy helping Thoronir, which is likely better than your own (if this is your first or second quest), plus take all the stuff you don't use and sell it.
So if those totals sound good to you, the quest is worth it.

Similar problem (spoiler)
Hello,
I am also trying to finish this quest, but unfortunately I have a problem. Once I have stolen the book, and have brought it to thoronir to confront him, he says I have to go and find Argamir to see with him ( thoronir wants proof of what I am saying) but when I go to speak with Argamir, he says he doesn't know the book, etc If I talk to jensine (who is the one who gives the quest) she tells to confront Thoronir. When I go back to Thoronir, he tells to speak to Argamir. So it is an endless circle, if anybody knows what to do...

First of all, thanks for answering. I don't understand one thing though, by the crypt do you mean agarmir's basement ? Because I found a shovel in his basement but nothing happens when I go to speak to him or Thoronir. I tried to follow Agarmir to see what he did but he just walked around without doing anything useful.
Found the solution
Ok, nevermind. I found the solution. I think there was a bug in the game, because everytime I spoke to thoronir after having stolen the Macabre book,the quest wouldn't advance. So I just loaded the game to a time before I started the quest, and I redid the quest and this time it worked. Cheers.

How'd you get in Argamir's house?
I'm trying this quest myself. I waited for Argamir to leave his house and had to break in. My SECURITY isn't great and my picks break all the time (despite the listen-to-the-clicks approach). I finally broke in, but a guard materialized and arrested me. What's the trick to this portion?

Make sure there is no-one watching you. Go into Sneak mode, and you will easily be able to tell if you are being observed, and can pick the lock when you are unseen..
As for breaking picks: SAVE before you attempt the lock, so you can reload and try again if you are breaking too many picks.

You don't sell them, you talk to her about it, as far as I remember anyway, it's been a while.
And He whispered to me in the darkness as we lay together, Tell Me where to touch you so that I can drive you insane; tell Me where to touch you to give you ultimate pleasure, tell Me where to touch you so that we will truly own each other. And I kissed Him softly and whispered back, Touch my mind.
