Swampy Cave *SPOILERS*

Post by Cailan »

I'm on the mission set by the Cheydinhal fighters guild where i have to investigate strange lights at Swampy Cave.. when i get to the cave i kill the enemies and go in (as the quest arrow is saying i should) when i get to the point where the arrow is green theres nothing. Ive searched all the bodies/chests, i'm using night vision so theres no dark spots i haven't seen. the only thing is that ive cleared swampy cave before when i was cave looting. am i missing something or has this bugged?

there are 2 points to be noted:

1) you hve to approach the cave at night, so you'll discover the stange lights are actually Will-o-the-wisps, and

2) you have to investigate the dead bodies in the cave marked by the green arrow. You than have to kill ALL of the troll in the cave, there are 2 parts in the cave, make sure you cleared both area.

if you have killed the Will-o-the-wisp before the quest, you may need to wait for them to respawn (may be a long time, not sure how long though).

killed the will-o-wisps and got the message to continue:
killed every troll and got message to check bodies:
checked every body and took everything they had (bonemeal and mort flesh) and got NO message

the sequance should be:

1) Kill the wisp to get message about trolls involved,
2) check the bodies, get message to kill all trolls,
3) clean the cave, get message that you killed all trolls,
4) go back to the village, report about the missing villager,
5) report to guild, quest done.

I guess you may have hit a quest bug. Try reporting to Bethy's official forum?

You can either try editing the program yourself, or presumably wait for Bethsoft to come out with a patch.

i've tried changing the quest mechanics, added a new stage that bypasses finding the bodies.. but for some reason it doesnt work :\ is it because my character is mid-quest? i'd really appreciate any experienced modders helping me through this.. what do i do???

OMG just searched swampy cave using the constructor set and the reason i cant complete this quest is cos the dead body isnt there!! all the skeletons and zombie bodies are there but not the quest guy's. so new question: can i force a spawn of his body ingame?

Hey Cailan,

I had the exact same problem. I've done some digging around and the console command is:

player.setstage fgc10swamp 40

cheers
