Why does my game lag???

Sometimes when I'm playing the game starts lagging really badly. If I quicksave it immediately starts working again. My processor and graphics cards are both fine. Does anyone know why it does this? Is it related to cache (mine is set at 450mb). Please help...

if you have the settings in BGconfig either slightly above, or right at you computer power- it will do that- try lessening the options a bit and see if it doesn't fix it 3D will always lag if there is a lot of activity going on.

If you have a tnt card, try upgradeing the drivers to nvidia's detonator3. I upgraded my old asus driver to nvidia/detonator and it helped a lot.
