Daedroth in Gnaar Mok tomb thing

Post by mr_sir »

Ok, I'm playing as a customised dark elf sorceroress - basically ever magic related skill as my major and minor skills and then unarmoured and short blade both as major skills. My character is now level 14 and pretty handy with my enchanted personalised short sword (15-30 shock damage on hit, in a 1 ft radius, on a steel short sword). Most things that I have come across so far don't survive more than 2 or 3 hits as I have short blade in the 60s and unarmoured in the high 50s (very handy for when i run out of magic lol). My question is this, how can I kill a daedroth. I managed to get through the entire tomb, with a rest here and there and a few healing spells etc. but then i stumbled across this thing and he just wipes the floor with me before i even get close to him. I know I could just come back later but I'm being stubborn and refusing to give up (I did the same thing when I stumbled across a frost atronach thing at level 5 and got there eventually by using potions and conjuring spells). So any tips for how to fight Daedroth as a spell-sword kinda character that does not wear armour? I have loads of money thanks to that thing in the orc place in Caldera that buys stuff full price so I can purchase new spells no prob.

I find daedroths to be one of the most difficult enemies at lower levels.
Have you tried some resistance to poison magic before going in?

I'm not sure how susceptible daedroths are to magic (I usually snipe at them with a bow), but you could also try paralyse from a distance.

I had no resistance to poison potions, just cure poison ones and they were no good cos the poison drained my health so fast. I've managed it now, after numerous experiments. I managed to summon a flame atronach (despite only a 43% chance of success lol), then drank an invisibility potion and while the daedroth was killing my atronach I ran around the back and just waiting until he stopped poisoning everything then kept whacking him with my sword before he had a chance to hit back. I got there eventually, with about 2 health left at the end lol. It was definately worth it though cos I made about 15k from all the loot in that tomb so I've now got an amulet that restores 20 points to all abilities at once so I don't need to keep going to get healed if I get poisoned or diseased lol.

Pretty much I just ended up using the same tactic as with the frost atronach - summon whatever I can and go invisible while they fight it out then attack once the opportunity arises (a bit cowardly but it works :) ). I think it may be time to actually do some quests to level up a bit more lol - I've spent the best part of 2 days (real time) just exploring various tombs, and running out of those that are too difficult.
