I know what I need to do - fireball, snowball, sever (I wasted the scroll in the chest...) and elevate...

I easily can do the first ones, my guy has those...but I can't find either a place to buy the last two, or even get scrolls....anyone know locations? Checked the places in the imperial market district, and many of the mage guilds...its getting annoying. Thanks!

Behind the dude in the cave who wants the book and then translates the markings is a chest with loads of scrolls in it. Also the magicka spells are in there.
Be sure to save before you try to open, because the scrolls don't respawn (AFAIK).

if u r in the arcane university u culd probably find one or two BUT i found an absorb magicka spell that mite work, u shuld try it, i got that spell in Cheyindal i believe. i also found a fortify magicka that requires lvl 50 restoration and its in the Anvil guild.....

Everything is in the chest just behind you, next to the translation guy. No need to wonder around.

Changed Game in 2007?

I am running the PC version and have the latest update to the game.

None of the scrolls in the barrel worked for "damage magika" presumably because they were "on touch" spells. None of the described available spells seemed to fit the bill, either. I had to "acquire" the Lesser Staff of Severing, which does cast the spell upon the target from a distance. That worked.

SPOILER** Console Command anyone?

If you're bored with trying to find the exact scroll you need you could always use the console command to have the item added to your inventory. The item ID number for scrolls are listed starting [url="http://www.gamebanshee.com/cgi-bin/search/banshee_search.pl?_layout=Oblivion_Items&_cgifunction=search&Oblivion_Items.type=Scroll"]here[/url].
It's up to you.

if you have a drain magicka spell or w/e is needed but it is touch only, go into arcane university and make one that is target or w/e you need.
