I'm new to this forum - I hope I am doing this correctly. I have two different situations that are very similar and seem to be bugs...but I'm not sure if it's that, or if I'm missing something.
1. On the final thieves guild quest i can get through a large portion of the "old Way" untill I get to an iron gate. It's at the far end of a large room with a raised walkway around the two sides and back. On the walkway are two stones that need to be pushed. When I push the one on the left it seems to charge two crystals that zap me if I get close to them while charged. The stone on the left does...nothing. Are these stones supposed to open the iron gate? Am I being stupid??
2. Same type of set-up. On the Mage's guild quest "Ambush" there is another iron gate that I can't open. I have gone through two sections of the Ayleid ruin named SILORN. The second section finished by placing me on a balcony overlooking an iron gate from the first part of the ruin. On the balcony is another push-stone. I push it...and again nothing. ......???
I have searched everything I can find in both dungeons. But, I can't find a way through these things. I would greatly appreciate any help!
Iron gates... bugs? (Spoilers)
I don't know about the TG quest, but you are doing the right thing in Silron. You push the button and the gates that are on the bridge should open and allow you through. If that is not happening then it is a bug. You do have a quest update to go in and find ... can't remember his name now? If so, then the only thing to do is see if there's a console command to help you (if you're on the PC that is).
And He whispered to me in the darkness as we lay together, Tell Me where to touch you so that I can drive you insane; tell Me where to touch you to give you ultimate pleasure, tell Me where to touch you so that we will truly own each other. And I kissed Him softly and whispered back, Touch my mind.
My boyfriend and I both had the same problem with the switches in the "Ambush" Mage Guild Quest on the 360 version. We fixed it by restarting the xbox and holding down the A button as soon as it was turned on until the Bethesda screen came on. This erased all the junk in the memory- it will load a little slow when you go back again, but it seems to clear it up.
