Lost Sound

Post by PokerDr »

Could anyone tell me how recover sound when it goes out. It just stopped. I reboot, reload, nothing works.

The game will be just fine one session, the the time I start the game there will be no sounds at all. All other sounds work, i.e windows sounds or anything else. The last time I opened the game the voices didn't work, but the other sounds did, i.e. walking, weapons. Sometimes restarting the game will fix the problem, but not always. I have logged 150 some hours in this game, but the sound problems seem to happen more often lately.

Also, the game does not always close correctly, I will get a "do you want to report the error?" message.

I have 3.4GHz pentium IV, 2 Gig Ram, 6800 video, latest windows XP.

Thanks for any help

You're being far too brief  can't help you with so little information. What exactly is happening? You're playing and all game sounds just stop? Do windows bleeps and errors etc. still work? Are you running Windows or X-Box?

Need alot more detail :) Sounds to me at the moment as though you've just accidentally put mute on.

Yes I have that problem, Ruffinator. Alot of people have attributed performance issues, and stuttering sound to onboard audio. But he seems to have a different issue entirely where he hears no sound after bootup
