hello, im having a multiplayer problem right now.
in case anyone has the same idea i had, which is to keep that shadowslayer sword you get from the shadow ruins that gives you complete shadow protection, dont do it. i think it might be because some bug or something blocks my character from joining any multiplayer games again, i really dont know, its very strange what has happend, but it has to do with trading items.
this is how it happended, my friend needed help picking mogs lvl 12 chests in his safehouse, so, i joined his game to do that. i was lvl 28 and in the middle of the shadow ruins, so i had shadowslayer still. so in multiplayer mode, i opened the chests, and my friend gave me the dragon helm that was inside one of them as payment.
i forgot to save it, and went back to my game. i didnt notice till later that i didnt have the helmet. but i remembered that the game saves your last mulitplayer instance of your character.
so i met with my friend again, i was lvl 38, but the game had a multiplayer saved instance of my character at lvl 28 with the shadow sword and dragon helm. my friend hosted this game.
so i dropped the shadow sword and dragon helm, my friend picked them up, then we quit, and i hosted the next game, with my lvl 38 instance of my character loaded.
my friend loaded his last multiplayer save, gave me the shadowsword, the red dragon helm, and the winged destroyer as well, i was going to trade the cerebrus band to him afterwards. then i saved my game, since i was host, it saved under my singleplayer saves with the items.
and ever since that, i cannot join my friends hosted games. i wanted to so i could complete the trade and give him the cerebrus band.
whenever i try to load my character, i only get two options, exit, and make new character, i do not get the option to "play this character".
i tried dropping the shadowsword and then saving, then trying to load that character, no luck
i then tried loading a saved instance of my character before we did any of the trades, and no luck, i cannot "play this character"
i then used the "make new character" button, and with a newly made character i can join my friends games.
it might even be the winged destroyer, its that a unique item? can you have two in the game? my friend used his multiplayer instance of his character to trade with me, so his solo instance still have the winged destroyer, but that doesnt make sense either, cuz the strangest part is that i cant load any of my saved instances of my character, without the items and before we traded.
so how is the game blocking me? does it remember my characters name? i dont get how it could mark/ban all my saved games, just from trading items.
my friend even loaded a save game of a different character he has, and i couldnt join that game either.
anyone have any ideas as to what happend? i would like to join my friends game again with this character.
