Killing bug..... (killing for free)

Post by morfeus »

I entered the shapeshifter's house in Druid grove's section. Placed three traps, summoned Khittix (the pet spider), hid in the shadows, and backstabbed the shapeshifter, with my Daystar. She turned red, started to summon her two helpers, and one of the traps was released, hitting her.

Then I hit her again and she dies. And I receive some 13000 points. (I think).

Unfortunately, in the following battle Cernd is cornered in death fog, and I didnt manage to save him. So I am restarting the fight.

This time I dont manage to kill the Rakasha until the two helpers are fully summoned, and what happens now is that I dont receive any exp.points for the killing.

I replay the scenario several times and the core rule here is that I have to kill the main villain before the two helpers summones to receive the exp.

AND, I also note that once, I didnt receive any points for killing the "death-fog-guy".

This must be a bug? Seems to me that to achieve exp.points you have to solve the specific tasks in a specific order. Fortunately there are multiple ways of satisfy these conditions, so normally you will get your well earned reward, but in some aspects you are NOT fulfilling the programmed demands. That may mean that you are using "the wrong type of magic", letting the "wrong NPC" doing the job, using "wrong item" and so on.

And I am very sure this bug has taken place in other parts of the game too.

Anyone got any thoughts and/or experince to this matter?

I have not actually experienced the bug that you mentioned, but I wanted to give another time where you don't get experience when you probably should:

If you gate in a pit fiend and the pit fiend kills the bad guys, you don't get any experience. I imagine that this is because the pit fiend is red and he is technically an enemy, not a summoned creature. It's a serious disincentive for me to use the spell gate, which in a real role-playing situation wouldn't happen.
