Namira Shrine quest

Post by Abuse »

I've read that I need to get my Personality down to <=20 in order to start this quest.

Only problem is.... I'm level 38, and my base personality is @ 91.

Does anyone have an idea as to how I can reduce my personality by 71 points so I may start this quest???

I've tried the 'drinking lots of cheap wine' approach, but each bottle only gives -10 points - and obviously there is the '5 potions active at a time' limit.

I also cannot manufacture a potion with drain personality effects greater than a pathetic -3 points.

I've also had a look through all my magical gear, and don't have anything with -ive personality effects.

So, any ideas? or have I uncovered a design flaw in this quests requirements?

Have you tried buying and imbibing multiple drain personality potions?

Do any potions exist with a large -ive personality effect?

I thought that if a potion has only -ive effects, it is considered a poison - and cannot be consumed.

Only as a 2ndary effect (to a +ive primary effect), can a potion have a -ive personality effect.

You only need that cheap wine thing. It drains personality 10 points I think, so you just need 8 bottles or so. Be careful though to drink them quickly right in front of her etc, it wears off fast.
And He whispered to me in the darkness as we lay together, Tell Me where to touch you so that I can drive you insane; tell Me where to touch you to give you ultimate pleasure, tell Me where to touch you so that we will truly own each other. And I kissed Him softly and whispered back, Touch my mind.

You can only have 5 potions active at a time though.... there-in lies the problem.

I found a solution in the end - there is a unique spell available in the Imperial City that gives (as one of its bad effects) -50 to Personality.
When coupled with 3 bottles of wine, it was enough to get below 20.

The spell set me back 6000 though!
Good thing money is not a problem anymore

Time Limit?

My case might perhaps be caused by a bug but it seems that there is no actual time limit regarding consumation of potions. I merely drank about five bottles of cheap wine, turned off the menu, turned it on again and continued consuming the cheap wine until i had met Namira's requirements.

Try raising your alchemy, the higher the alchemy the more potions you can drink, and the stronger the potions that you make are.

I had the same problem at personality 82
first remove your Alembic when making your potions (the retort can go too).
then make your potions (I think mine were restore endurance/damage personality),
the effect of these won't wear off like the cheap wine will so you don't have the potion limit.
then go back to a temple to get healed after completeing the quest !

The other option, available to members of the Arcane University, is to create a high effect, short duration drain personality spell at an altar of spellmaking.
I think you can create a 90 point drain attribute spell with like 4 or 5 second duration with a mysticism (or alteration?) skill of 50.
