I have seen these special classes listed at the bottom of the list ever since I first started playing NWN, classes like Arcane Archer, Harper Scout, Blackguard, etc. At the beginning, I assumed that these special classes would become available after I hit a certain level. Well, I've played through NWN completely, SoU, and am now near the end of Chapter II in HotU. I'm a level 24 Wizard, and at no time have those special classes ever become available. Each time I level up, they're all still greyed out. Hell, HotU has added a lot more, like Red Dragon Disciple, and a few others that sound pretty kick-ass.
And yet, at no time have I ever been able to pick any of them. What gives? It's somewhat frustrating because I really don't want to waste leveling on any of the other classes, they all seem (understandably) mundane compared to all these special classes listed.
Can anyone tell me when any of these will finally open up?
Also, I notice that the absolute most you can sell an item for in HotU is 10,000 GP. What a rip-off. It sucks to sell an item to the wizard or your Djinn, for ten grand, only to watch them turn around and list its sale price at like 235,000 gold. What happened? I remember in NWN as well as SoU, you could sell an item for a lot more, now there seems to be some sort of cap.
So When Do the Special Classes Open Up?

If you click on the greyed out classes (or look at their descriptions in the manual) the requirements for those classes will be detailed, you need to fulfill the requirements for one of those classes to be able to select it.
As for the selling cap, yeah, there is one in HotU, it's just there to stop you getting too rich, too quickly. It does increase every chapter though. So, you could hold onto stuff from Chapter 1 and sell it in Chapter 2 for more...etc.

Differnt merchants have different amounts of how much they'll pay for items. The djinn is one of the "cheap ones", so if you can spare the cash and space, then shop around for thoese who'll pay more for your items.

Well, right now I'm in Chapter II, so about my only options are the Djinn, or the wizard in the Drow camp. Both top offers max out at 10,000 gold pieces.

If there is some items you know are worth a lot more, save them for chapter 3 (or was it four? Can't remember). You'll get five times what they pay in the drow camp.
