Hm
I know my level doesn't go up until I press "C" to check my skills. My blue bar doesn't reset until I do that. It does give me the extra experience I earn beyond the level too. So its not like I'm losing anything (I hope). I've gone from level 2 to 4 without seeing 3.
Have you ever pressed "c" to check your skills after your blue bar has filled? Not questioning your competence, but I wouldn't be surprised if a lvl 1 hasn't checked his skills.

I was wondering the same thing...what kind of bonus/benefit do you get from actually increasing your level? As far as I can tell its just symbolic...your experience points gained are the points you can spend.
Also, I was reading the gameplay tips (http://www.gamebanshee.com/dungeonlords ... aytips.php)
...and it mentioned:
"In version 1.4/1.5, if you use a weapon, then you'll automatically gain experience in the skill required for the weapon."
I don't quite get this...I thought you get experience points for kills/quests and then spend those to raise your skills. Do you gain extra experience at random when using weapons? That sentence makes no sense to me.
Thanks in advance

For example, if you use a light weapon in combat, then you'll receive a small trickle of experience in light weapons.

Sir Edmund: "Should you obey the lord who asks you to put a village of innocents to the torch? Is that chivalrous? Is it noble?"
Me: "It's a great way to get promoted, I know that much."

Ok...but..what does that mean? Will my light weapon skill go from 1 to 2 automatically? Or does it mean that the cost to go from 1 to 2 is lowered? (And there is some internal variable keeping track of it).
It just makes no sense given the UI (not that the UI ever made sense anyway...heheh)
