Problems with dropping items

Problems with dropping items
So I finished the Thieves Guild questline, got the Grey Cowl and been to the new headquarters but can't seem to drop the items from the last quest. These include the Arrow of Extrification, Plans for the Big Heist and Instructions for the Grey Cowl that were obtained from the Ancestor Moths. Is there any way to drop this stuff or is anyone else having this problem?

You should have used the Arrow, I would think.

Yeah you can find it again after using it and pick it up, however if you try to equip it the game will tell you "You can't fire this quest item".
And lo ye must learn of the great war that raged fo a couple of posts and brought the citadel momentaraly to its knees
