chorrol canvas the castle (spoilers)
So im having trouble with this quest I investigated and have questioned everyone and then found the east tower, and am stuck help would be great

Have you seen the paint set in the lady's (main suspect, the one with the female afro, her name escapes me) room.
And lo ye must learn of the great war that raged fo a couple of posts and brought the citadel momentaraly to its knees

Actually, what you are missing, I bet, is a question from one suspect to be answered before you get the next phase of the quest. He's the obnoxious one. You have to raise his disposition before he'll talk to you, and until he talks to you, you can't proceed.

I interviewed all the suspects before I collected any physical evidence, and was ready to accuse her right then. Her alibi was "taking star readings" on a night that at least three other witnesses testified it was raining cats & dogs. Book 'em Dano.
Sadly, that isn't enough to get her to confess; you need 3 pieces of physical evidence too. I found the hidden painting studio in the tower basement and the paint set in her room right away. Then I ran into the only time I've been frustrated with a quest script being inflexible, because it took me days to find the paint stain in the dining room.
