***SPOILER*** Where's Shadowmere?

Post by Dyre Straits »

Those who recognize the name will know what I'm talking about.

The problem is, Shadowmere has disappeared. No longer do I get a prompt that my horse is stabled outside the city. I've also checked all the stables I can locate around the land and there simply is no Shadowmere.

The last I saw he/she? was slowly moving off from where I dismounted somewhere around a fort. But, it was actually a few fast travels to some cities before the prompt stopped showing up.

So, how can I go about finding Shadowmere again?

This is noted in other threads. Shadowmere has gone home. Go to where you found him.

OK. I finally found out where 'home' is. :)

For those who may encounter this also, just check the Completed Quests and look for where Shadowmere was awarded to you. That's finally what I did and there 'she' was. :)

Ah - I'd encountered this too.
After [he/she] had got [him/her]self killed, [he/she] stopped following me to cities.

AFAIK, once yours, always yours. Go back to the fort, and he should be waiting for you (I use 'he' advisedly. Shadowmere fights. Stallions fight to protect the herd. Mares only fight to protect the colts - no sexism intended, that's just the world according to horses. Your PC may be fairly considered part of the herd, but never a colt).

I seem to recall lucien refering to shadowmere as a "she"
"She will serve you well"

That's what I thought, too. That's why I put 'she' in the original post.

Anyway, why does Shadowmere consistently return to the Fort? I'm getting very well frustrated with 'her'.

Probably misses 'her' ex-master, and doesn't know that he was skinned alive.
