Morrowind User Manual and Docs

Post by bariumdose »

Hi,

I'm considering buying Morrowind and the expansions on eBay. However, the seller does not have the documentation or user's manual for the game. Can anyone tell me if the documentation can be found online?

Thanks.

The documentation is on the cd itself in my copy so I'd ask him to check the cd.

As for online, have you tried the official Morrowind website?
http://www.elderscrolls.com/games/goty_overview.htm (game of the year edition)
http://www.elderscrolls.com/games/morro ... erview.htm (normal edition)

Yeah, I checked the websites you mentioned. But I was hoping to find a legend or quickstart guide to the keyboard keys and mouse buttons used in the game. Having never played it, I don't know what keys I need to know in order to play the game.

But if the docs are on the cds, then that would be easy for me to print them out.

I have the European copy of Morrowind and on my cd there is a folder called manuals which has manuals in loads of different languages so the chances are the copy you are buying will have the manual as a pdf file.

As far as keyboard keys go, they are pretty straight forward and all explained within the first 5 or 10 mins of the game while you are setting up your character. It doesn't really use a lot of keys and during the game you can just press Esc to bring up the menu screen and choose options then you can look at the controls if you are not sure which you need. I have to say, the whole control system and how you suse items etc. is very straightforward in Morrowind and pretty logical.

Just a word of advice, if you can then get the two expansions too as they vastly improve the mods you can use and they vastly improve the journal (which is pretty much useless without the expansions).

I have the North American version, and as far as I can tell I don't have the electronic manual. (I right clicked on the game disc to bring up its contents and I looked in my main Morrowind folder)

If indeed the manual does not come with the North American edition of the game, I'm guessing it is because it was easier to put all the different European languages in electronic format, thus allowing the player to use whichever one they need.

I also looked around on Google briefly to see if there were manuals, the only thing I found was a reference on one site that Bethesda had requested it be taken down...

Anyway, as already stated the controls are not that difficult, and the beginning of the game (effectively a tutorial) will provide you with all the important keys. For any others, you could probably just ask here, assuming there were no legal issues involved. :)

If by any chance you cannot get access to a manual, I don't see why I couldn't just send you a copy of the one on my cd (after all its not like I'd be copying the game or anything).

Thank you, everyone for your help!

Thank you, all, for the help! Very much appreciated! I'll put in a bid for the game plus the two expansions. If after receiving the cds, I still cannot find the user manual and docs, I'll let you know.

Now I get to find out what the hubbub is about this game. :)

Thanks again!
