Anvil Oblivion Gate Help(spoilers)

Having trouble on the main quest. I just started the allies for Bruma quest and first went to Anvil. Then I went to the Anvil Oblivion gate to try and close it for the lady. I've killed everyone I can find in the gate and I've been to the two smaller towers. I can see the big tower in the middle but I can't find a way to get there. Is that where I need to go to get the gate closed? I'm so lost. Thanks in advance.

Actually I had trouble with this to and I actually sat there and looked around for about 3 hours and finally found it. The doorway to get in is in between the two small towers. When you come in the gate and pass the first one then it's on the right a little after it. it's a cave system that goes all the way to the top.
