Two kinds of vampire? *spoilers*

Post by Dowaco »

In the Imperial City, the Order of the Virtuous Blood quest. I have completed the quest but have some questions about vampires.

Spoilers below.
When you complete the quest, Roland tells you that he will pay 250 gold for each sample of vampire dust you return to him. In my inventory, I have two kinds of vampire dust. One wieghs 0.1 and the other 0.2. They have the same properties otherwise. Jenseric will only pay for the heavy dust, he does not even recognise that you have the lighter stuff.

My question is: Why two kinds? Is the lighter dust stuff I had before I finished the quest and does not count towards vamipe bounty? Or are there different kinds of vampire with different amounts of dust?
I have about 2,000 gold in useless Vampowder. I guess I could use it to make potions.

Thanks.

I find I get more money from converting it into powerful potions (and selling them), than simply selling the raw dust.

Hrmmm....I have thought that there were differnt kinds of vampires aswell.....
Iam not to sure but me being a vampire character I have taken the dark gift from vincenti valtieri , now he is a very old vampire and when i go without blood for a while I really powerful and my face looks pretty damn evil. However I got vampirism on another character and it was from the count of skingrad (I started to fight just t steal the immortal gift:mischief: ) And when I go without blood for days on end theres hardley any difference in stats or face ( Little pale is all) so maybe there are older vampires that are stronger than weeker , younger ones . That may also explain the two differnt types of vampire dust.....

Its not the money, I have almost 200,000 in gold. I just wanted to know why there are two kinds of vampire dust.

You get the heavy dust for bounty, the light dust for ingredients. Nothing sophisticated. It's just a means of discriminating between fledgeling vampires that they're not concerned with and 'real' vampires that they are willing to pay for.
