Potion economics

Post by Darzog »

Is there a list anywhere of relative prices of potions in Morrowind? I know that the price depends on the quality of the potion, but if I'm making a bunch and we assume my stats, skills and equipment are constant, are there any particular potions (out of readily available components) that are worth more than others?

In general I make a stock of 3 types of potions: restore magicka, restore health and fatigue, and levitation for normal use. I'm just about to start making the levitation so I don't know about them, but the magicka and health/fatigue are usually worth the same amount of money. I was just curious if there are any particular potions worth making just for resale.

I don't know about prices, but I generally make restore fatigue and restore attribute potions for sale as I never use restore attribute potions (I just create an enchanted item that restores all attributes at once). If you make a few fortify intelligence potions and drink them then make potions for sale, they will be better potions and will be worth a lot more money when you sell them.

Yeah, I normally get my Int to about 2,000 when I make the restore potions. It makes me have virtually unlimited magicka and health through any fight I'm in.

I just wasn't sure if any other recipe would be of higher sale value.

The worth of potions is based on your alchemy skill.

As I increase my Int score very high it also impacts the power and value of the potions (from what I've seen it looks that way at least).

Int increases the value and power of a potion because your ability to use alchemy is based on both your alchemy score and your intelligence.

No, the worth is dependent upon several things. One is your alchemy skill, but others include your intelligence, the level of your alchemy equipment pieces, your mercantile skill, and the disposition of the merchant.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
