Stuck at the "Unseeing Eye!"

I can't seem to figure out what is wrong...I'm in the "Cult of the Eyeless" area, and on my map there is a marker that says "To the Lair of the Unseeing Eye" except that when I go there I can't find a door or stairs or anything. I've done everything in this quest...I've killed Gaal, I've gotten the first half of the rod from the avatar (after crossing the "Broken Bridge") and now I'm just wishing that I could contiunue...but I can't seem to go anywhere? What gives?

The pit of the faithless is inside cult of the eyeless area. its this big pit over on the left. there are some stairs leading down. cant miss it.

Yes - it looks like a big red pit, right? I can't find any stairs there. My map marks it as "To the Lair of the Unseeing Eye" but that's all I get...no stairs!

If it's the place I'm thinking of there is no stairs ....it's a drop off you have to go down....

I think what happened is that I killed all the cult memebers...I just heard you need to talk to Sasser who tells you to talk to the cult member Tad...but I must have killed Tad before he was able to tell me about the way down to the Unseeing Eye. Because I talked to Sasser and he didn't have much to say before he dissapeared.

@Weasel- heres a little flying tip: Fly about 2.5 feet above the ground. turn upside down. then push the big red button labled 'EJECT'.
