Bonus Content Sword- Bugged? [spoilers]

I've just purchased the Sword of Rigor Mortis Frost for my Sylvant fire mage. For the most part it's there just to compensate for the cold vulnerability of Fiery Ancestry.

However, I also use it "between spells" so to speak so that my PC isn't just stood ther like a useless lump. I've noticed that the sword seems to hit every time- or near enough- whereas with a scimitar of fleshseeking I was lucky to hit one time in three.

Am I missing something blindingly obvious here or is the blade bugged? My one handed skill hasn't improved more than two or three points so it's not skill but I can't think what else it could be.

Don't get me wrong- I'm not actually complaiming about this, I'm just curious.

Hmm, it's possible that it is bugged, I haven't really tried out that weapon.
Generally with weapons, certain ones are faster or slower than others which could account for the attack between spells.
