Ahnkheg Shell

Post by p2572 »

Just a quick post to let poeple know that there is an Ahnkheg shell available in the bridge district. Near the top of the map their is a building with a short flight of steps up to the door, inside it is some kind of storage building and there is a small trapped crate containing the shell.

I remember that it was concidered very bad to kill more than 10 Ankheg in BG1. How about in BG2, do rangers eat you alive if you kill too many Ankhegs? I once ran in to five of them, I think it was in Windspear hills. (must have been holding a meeting about their conquest of the world. Did I ruin that... Image)

I believe I've slain more than eight so far, and no ill effects. Of course, due to the non-linear and multi-pathed nature of the game, that may or may not be universal.

I have killed a few myself. I would have been happy to avoid them, but they kept sneezing at me so I had to de-shell them. Have I missed something, is is the Ankheg armor not worth it?
Then darkness took me, and I strayed out of thought and time

In BG1 they were used to ( Break up the soil so the crops would grow better) I believe that was why they only wanted people to kill 10 per group. Who knows just hack'em up. Image

ankeg armor is really only ok. depends on what you've got in your party now. i made the ankeg armor, only to try it on and find out that it was worse than what I had. Luckily, I could sell it. Unluckily, I could only sell it at a net loss from what I paid to have it made.

Yeah it does suck, not worth getting made as you can find much better armour. In fact most of the better equipment is found, not bought

i remeber in bg you used to sell the shells to the thunder hammer smithy (in beregost i think) for 500gc a pop, he seemed to think he would be able to sell a suit of is armour for 20,000 gc, all i say to him is

GOOD LUCK!!!! Image
