Three Evil NPC's Never Used

Post by Jordoo »

I would like to run a new game using three evil NPC's that I have never tried.

Tiax, Eldoth and Skie

Might Dual Skie to a Mage right away not sure.Anyways looking for some advice on Evil PC choice and the other two NPC's. I will not use any Good aligned NPC's for this run.

Basically those three should cover all my theif abilities as well as a backup cleric and Arcane caster. My PC will definatally be a power hungry type at all costs.
:) Once again time to give someone the boot to make room for Coran. LOL :)

Of course, thinking entire Saga, I'd say:

Eldoth (bard)
Skie (thief)
Viconia (cleric)
Edwin (conjurer)
Tiax (cleric/thief)

Your main dude could be a fighter (then barbarian in BG2).
That first portrait (the mean-looking guy with the bald head) looks barbarian.

If a fighter is too boring, or just one fighter-type ain't enough, then
run a fighter/mage (or fighter/cleric), drop Edwin (or Viconia),
and pick up Shar Teel or Kagain.

Don't be an elf if you think Viconia's hot. ;)
Why is it that whenever I finally get around to playing a new game for the first time,
I feel like playing Baldur's Gate for the second time...

You have to take into consideration that you get Tiax and Eldoth & Skie a little late in the game . They're also not the most powerful npc's around (there are better clerics and thieves) - but they'll get the job done.

Still, in terms of roleplaying those three are among my favorite NPC's in BG1.

Thx Guys.

I agree that Viconia is almost a lock to be in this group.
I am thinking Kagain for a tank.
And then the PC could be an Fighter/Illusionist Gnome.
If thats possible I'll have to check.
Seems like a character with lots of evil potential.

Coot, I will probably have some experiance eaters in my party until reaching these characters. Also plan on doing very few side quests, until aquiring them. But don't worry I'm not picking them as a power party just wanted to enjoy some NPC's that I have no experiance with.

So to recap:

PC (Gnome Fighter/Illusionist)
Kagain (Dwarf Fighter)
Viconia (Drow Elf Cleric)
Eldoth (Human Bard)
Skie (Human Thief)
Tiax (Gnome Cleric/Thief)

I think a Gnome Fighter/Illusionist is a great choice! Nasty little bugger.

I'll bet there's plenty of XP to go around, however you go about things.

A couple of thiefs, a couple of arcane spellcasters, a couple of devine spellcasters, a couple of crazy gnomes, a couple of chicks, a Couple, and a grumpy old dwarf. Sounds like you're all set!

Please check back in with your opinions on the NPC's which, sadly, I'll probably never have time to party with.

Because the Gnome gnomes best.

I like Kagain. Kagain is funny because he isn't very evil...not to the point of being a murderer, and he has some funny lines. He regenerates too which will save you some healing.
"Korax thinks you look very tasty today...

Ok I have gotten the group together.
Garric filled in until I get eldoth
Imoen untill I picked up skie.
Kiven until Tiax graced me with his presance.

Anyway Eldoth is pretty good with his poisoned arrows and the long bow of marksmanship. Other than that he will sing away pickpockets and be my utillity mage and of course identify Items.

Skie is going to be my lockpicking expert and then Dual to mage. Has 18 dexterity which is nice for ranged weapons and theif bonus's.

Tiax is great as a backup cleric and will also handle disarming traps. He has a special abillity to summon Gast. It is great aganst magic users and was a surprise to me.

Kagain and Viconia are doing there thing as usual very good NPC's.

Spud Spelnick is my PC Fighter/Illusionist Gnome is really starting to become powerful even though he is only level 3/3 as I have rushed through the game so far to get the characters that I wanted. He takes true pleasure in his evil deads and then laughs his --- off when he drops some gold in the temple to keep his rep from beng to low.(REALLY GETS A KICK OUT OFF THAT) Right now we hear rummors of some heroic Ranger type running around doing good stuff. We're off to kill him in a truely sneaky and evil way.HAHAHA

Just got the crew together and have lots to do will report back later on the personalities and interaction of the charachters as well as the strength and game play of each once at the Heighth of my glutonious power hungry Gnome.

OK finally finished with this group. Had a blast. Actually still have to interupt the ceramony and do some chasing but thats it and my characters are as powerful as they are going to get.So here's my review.

Kaigan----Well he was as good as ever. Guantlets of dexterity, lots of strength potions. Perfect grumpy tank. Just soaked it up and delt it out.

Viconia----Gave her the guantlets of ogre power, +4 plate +2 shield and made her my second tank and front line healer. Great front liner because of her magical resistance.

Spud Spellnick----My Fighter Illusionist really was alot of fun and had the most kills in my party can't wait to export him to BGII. (ironskins,LOL)

Tiax

Tiax----Never used him before and relly loved hearing "Soon Tiax will rule all" after a while it becomes comforting. Anyway he is one of the funiest NPC personalities in BGI, very colorful. I used him as my disarm trap guy and also gave him 55 in set traps so that was usful as well. It was great to have a secound divine caster and not have to use all my spell slots for healing. Gave him drizzts mail, keils buckler, +3 sling , keils helm and the staff mace. In battle he mainly summoned skeletal minions and ghast's. Then slung +2 bullets and whatever spells needed during battle. Also a good pre buffer. While not having the greatest stats Tiax is powerul by class alone and in the right group can be a great asset. He was certainly at home in my little group.

Skie

Skie----She handled every lock with ease and was a great if not winey scout, using boots of stealth and shadow armor. Gave her the eagle bow and bracers of archery. She did pretty well using the proper arrow types for the situation. Got a few decent backstabs in with a strength potion and a potion of power but mainly she would scout ahead then hide out only to appear after Kagain had drawn everyones attention. Decent theif but you get her late and she has her pionts pretty spread out.(As well as her legs) Speaking of personality there is not alot there. Constant complaining. Once she said "Eldoth I Love You" can't remember his exact responce but he made it pretty clear that she was a pain in his but,

Eldoth

Eldoth----Eldoth is on the rude side and certainly doesn't hide that he is evil but does have good charisma especially when using algernons cloak. He served as my nagotiater in most situations and did well. Was also my pickpocket artist. Apparently his tune never got old since he played that harp non stop, only pausing to use a wand, cast a spell or launch the ocational bolt with the heavy crossbow of accuracy. Anyway was my wand and scroll specialist. Truely great jack of all trades and really changed my view of bards in general. Very useful characters when used correctly. I am pretty sure one Haer Dilas will be touring with Spud Spellnick through Amn.

This was so much of a blast that I have decieded to form a group encorporating four other NPC's that I never use just to give them a chance. They are Yeslick, Faldorn, Safanna and Quayle. I plan to team them with Imoen(dualed to mage) and my PC will be a Male Dwarf Berzerker. Whenever I have the time to actually start this group I will post a new thread about them and review each one.

Feel free to ask any questions about Tiax, Skie or Eldoth. I'll do my best to answer them.
