There was a thread yesterday, or a topic buried in a thread, that asked the question about experience distribution when a Mage learned spells. Unfortunately I can't find it or I would simply post this to to it! (I don't have time to read everything since I'm supposed to be working too!!).
And the answer is, yes. All the party members share in the experience when a Mage learns a new spell. Justification? I can only guess that it would be because the entire party gains from the Mage's new abilities.
Experience
It's in the Imoen vs. Nalia thread, in case anyone wants to read it.

I think it's a joke to get XPs for learning a spell if you are a Fighter! The learning mage should be the only one to gain... In our PnP games, we never got xps for learning spells. We did get XPs (50 per spell level) for casting, but only when it was in combat, or prepping for/recovering from combat... you can't just "blow" the rest of your spell list before you go to sleep to get extra xps. I hope BG3 goes along these lines....
