TG Heist-Statue does not rotate to shoot arrow into (spoilers)

Post by shellii »

First I would like to thank everyone out there that posts replies to these threads. You help so many people. I know of one other spot in Oblivion, where if someone wouldn't have posted the same problem I would have never gotten through. So thanks!! And thanks to any who can help me here. I have been wracking my brain. I am in the TG The Heist section. Down in the Hall of Epochs. Now I have backed up my game four times now and I always come up with the same result. Is this a glitch or am I missing something? But after going through and puyshing the blocks so the moveable walls move, I kill the zombies and then make my way over to the now accessible bridge, but when I step on the plate, [this is where the statue is suppose to turn around so I can shoot the Arrow of Extrification] nothing happens! I can't even see the statue from here!!! Can any of you guys help me? Much thanks and keep up the good work!! I think without these forums these games may not be the hits they are!

As per the "HEY YOU" sticky topic at the top of the forum, if your question gives away plot points about quests, locations, characters, etc. you should put "SPOILER" in the title and color the spoiler text black in the message.

That said, did you get the quest update in your journal saying something about "this must be the spot"? If not, you might try lingering around the red gem on the platform, or approaching it from different angles until you get that message. There might be another switch you have to push (besides the one that removes the two big square walls), but I don't think so. I had a thief with ridiculous Acrobatics, and with the Boots of Springheel Jak I was able to jump up to the plate without lowering those walls at all, and I'm pretty sure the statue still worked. Anyway, if you did get the journal update, you just might not have noticed the statue moving. It's a really long way away, and you can barely notice the keyhole. If your Marksman skill is high enough, hold Block while you have an arrow nocked to zoom in on the target. If not, it's almost impossible to see. Hope that helps.
Can the answer to this question be "No"?

Try a search forums about this...

Here is a answer to your question. Aiming point can be change due the marksman skill. I had only 5 points at this time. But do as suggested in the later part of my foretold reply...
I've played this quest. It the room where you use the arrow I think. As far I remember;

There is a great statue in the middle. turn to left or right side on the upper lvl. there are a few zombies inside walls. you must push buttons to lower these walls. To the left and right of the main room you will find another sections of the dungeon. Explore them. Dont forget use the boots to jump to a upper lvl there. After pushing the buttons, return to the main hall. There you'll se that the coloumn walls are lowered and there are 4 zombies. hack them. on the middle of the (upper lvl) where the walls are lowered you will find a press plate. while standing on it, fire the arrow to the statue (on highlighted crystal spot). But to target this you must aim higher. In the middle of the statues head. Try it with a other arrow then the quest arrow. AND SAVE BEFORE FİRİNG THE QUEST ARROW.

If you hit it with the quest arrow the passage will open. Dont forget the two guardian statue.
Those who think about the end, could not be a hero...

@Shellii, as @belthan (thank you) pointed out, you should add a spoiler warning on your thread. i'm doing this for you, and PMing you in this regard.

Keep posting!

Sorry about the spoiler thing, I just don't get when your "spoiling" and when your not. Like how do I ask a question without spoiling? Anyway , I can get the walls down, and I can stand on the plate, but the pedestal does not light up and the statue does not rotate with the keyhole opening. I have gone back in my saves and this section over and over , thinking I missed something or did something wrong. No my archery skills are not that good, I am a Nord and like to get right in there in my fighting so do little with the bow and arrow , but would that make a difference on if the statue pedestal lights up and the statye turning? Thanks to Warlord and Luis for their responces!
