Security Training (possible spoiler)

Post by Silver Knight »

My security skill is currently 25. I was wondering why I do not even get the option of the training dialogue with Samuel Bantien and Malintus Ancrus. I bribed the latter up to a disposition of 90 but still no joy. Do you have to be a member of the thieves guild?
"Magic is impressive but Minsc leads now, swords for everyone!"

"It is no shame to run away now and to come back later with bigger swords!"

I'm not sure if you need to join a faction to use their trainers as I join the factions as soon as possible.

However, it seems that a lot of non shopkeepers that you can use to barter and train still function as shopkeepers. Thus, your best bet is to go see them during normal shop hours. If that doesn't work, see if you can get into the theives guild.

To do so...
*spoiler*
Either steal something and get caught. Go to jail and after you come out you will eventually be approached by someone that opens up for joining. Resting in Imperial City for 1 hour should be enough for this to happen.
You could also speechcraft/charm/bribe a beggar high enough, around 70-80, and ask them about the Grey Fox to open up the possibility of joining the TG.
