SoU question - Magic pool in J'nah's cave

How do I get the magic pool before I reach J'nah to work. The elemental wisdom rooms hint at casting some sort of the right spell, and I guess I need to get a silver trinket, but I have not come across it yet, and dont know what spell to use...
