Where are the Vamps?

Post by Berethor »

After reading many websites, and getting the same responses like "after becoming a vampire, you will get bonuses but you can only heal with vampire touch" etc. But what I would like to know is where do I find Vampires?? Ash Vampires don't count, and I think I read that If I get bitten by a common dungeon vampire, I don't get to do the quests. Thanks in advance.

The vampire walkthrough section lists the locations of the vamp clans that you can get quests from joining.

Quoted from walkthrough sections:

Aundae:
Dhaunayne Aundae leads the Aundae Clan from her remote lair, a tomb called Ashmelech. To locate it, head to middle of the northern coast of the mainland. There is a medium sized island directly north of you – not the one Dagon Fel is on and not the one Ald Redaynia is on. It is a small nondescript island of small to medium size.

Berne:
Galom Daeus is a dwemer ruin in the north central part of the Molag Amur mountain range overlooking a lake of lava. It is southwest of Uvirith’s Grave.

Quarra:
Volrina Quarra, who is found on the lower level of Druscashti, an ancient dwemer ruin, leads them. To get to Druscashti, head northwest up the foyada from Maar Gan. The second dwemer ruin, on the eastern wall of the foyada, is Druscashti (the first ruin is Bthungthumz). The entrance to Druscashti (and Bthungthumz, too, for that matter) is on the other side of the foyada wall, meaning you will see the ruin, but not be able to enter without climbing out of the foyada.

Er..I guess I can't join Quarra..I already, you know, slaughtered them. I thought it was a normal Dwemer Ruin before I found out about vampirism. I still have the Blood of the Quarra Masters from the head vamp.

I also found another group of vamps in Dulo Ancestral Tomb, but I was letting them attack me for 5 minutes with no diesese. Is this because I beat the game already?

No, I don't think its because you have finished the main quest. Have you tried taking off all your armour etc. so they can hit you? (I don't know if it would help but I would have thought if they hit more often then you have a better chance of getting the disease). I've not actually got around to becoming a vampire yet but I've never been infected by any vampires I've met so I think it is only occasionally that they manage to infect you with the disease. Allow them to hit/damage you more often might increase the chances of it happening.

Also, if you get infected by a vampire that is not from the above 3 clans then you cannot do any of the clan quests, just the extra vamp quests that are available from people throughout Morrowind.

Edit: Just remembered something else. You can only get infected once. If you cure disease when you get infected then you can never get infected again. Are you sure you haven't been infected before and just thought it was an ordinary disease?

I've never fought a vampire before that. And isn't there a point in the main quest where some telvani guy cures you of corprus and gives you immunity(sorry, it's been a while)? I just checked what each of those little boxes near the map on the screen and one said Immunity: Common Diesese: 100%. I took off my armor and they were hitting me, but after 5 mins, I noticed that I had immunity to it. Is there a way to lower my immunity? I know that the vamps have a spell that lowers it, but only for a short time.

Spoilers highlight to read

You cant recieve vampirism or any other disease except Sanious Lupous(Spelling?) which is only in bloodmoon after doing the quests for Dyvath Fyr in the main quest.
