True daedric armour

Post by welshmouse »

i am currnetly in the process of creating "true daedric armour" an idea that struck me when i started needing more space to carry loot, and thought even my glass armour was too heavy.

i am going to create an amulet and ring to wear, that will deck me out with constant effect bound armour and longsword. (i should get an almost full set)
i was just wondering if anyone else has tried this before? it seems a good idea to me but i might be missing somet fatal flaw.

lastly i was wondering if someone could tell me from whom i can buy the bound greaves spell? i spent 3 hour from 12 o clock last night trying to get it and its pretty much the only one left i need.

anyone got a coment?

EDIT: also can anyone give me the location of some equisite amulets or rings? i just have extravegent atm so it would be helpfull. ;)

The exquisite amulets and rings are random, but try the richer areas of Morrowind. I think I've found a few in smugglers caves too. Try increasing your luck and it will improve your chances of finding decent stuff (I didn't realise this until Fable told me in another thread and since doing it, the stuff you get is so much better in quality :) )

As for the greaves, my only suggestion would be to systematically go around all the temples, imperial cult places, mage guilds one by one until you find it.

yeah ill try lvling up my skill, tho i am lvling up alot less now as my 2 best skills (long blade and acrobatics) are maxed out, so i seem to level up no where near as much as i used to.

thanx for the tips anyway. if anyone can tell me where to get bound greaves id be very grateful. :D

Morrowind:Spell Merchant Lists - UESPWiki

UESP doesn't show Bound Greaves as a spell. Sorry.

I'm pretty sure "bound greaves" is missing from the game. I know I've seen a mod that adds it though, probably at File Planet, but I'm not sure.

Oops, sorry, I just noticed Welshmouse is on XBox.
If you have Tribunal, you could use the greaves belonging to the DB armor. They are Light, and they don't look too terrible with Daedric.

I found out that 'bound' daedric armor has a much lower armor rating than does the actual heavy stuff... or am I wrong?

Here's a plan, if your computer can handle it (which should be the case)...instead of getting GOTY for XBox, get it for PC ;) All of a sudden you'll have thousands of mods to choose from... new quests, new clothing... ways to make the game more difficult/easy.. the possibilities are nearly infinite.

I assume you mean real daedric greaves, not the spell bound greaves :)

Well, "Bound Greaves" weigh 0 pounds, so they classify as light armor, while Daedric is heavy. So it depends on your Light and heavy armor skill. :)

I had the same idea once, however, after trying that, I found out that bound armor just doesn't compare to the normal Daedric armor.

It is only good in the early game as the maximum defense that each piece provides is 80 wheres a normal suit of armor improves with levels and can become 266 with 100 in heavy armor. (Not to mention that you can buff that skill up with spells.)

No.

Go into your CS, load up Morrowind.esm, and you can see that both bound and daedric curriases have an AR of 80. :) They are the same, except they are different armor classes.

i tihnk ill take the advise on getting the pc version of GOTY. i just hope my pc will handle it.

back on topic, my heavy armour skill is terrible (i am a ninja) so i use mainly light armour which means that although i have less proteciton than with my glass armour, i can carry twice as much loot, which IMO is worth it.

i already have real daedrivc greaves but im just wearing glass greaves (and pauldrons..is there a bound spell for that?) im pretty glad with this creation as my character moves reaaaly fast and can carry tonnes which is great, and even though y armour isnt as great as it was with full glass, i have al the fortify attribute effects which is awesome.

I could swear it's possible to get hold of Bound Greaves as a spell, in fact I have it as one of my spells on my Khajit in a vanila game. I can't really remember where exactly I picked it up, but I think Tel Aryn or Tel Fyr has all the spells in the game on its inhabitants.
i tihnk ill take the advise on getting the pc version of GOTY. i just hope my pc will handle it.

What are the minimum and recommended system requirements for playing Morrowind?
The Official Story on specs:

MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:
* Windows ME/98 128 MB RAM
* Windows XP/2000 256 MB RAM
* 500 MHz Intel Pentium III, Celeron, or AMD Athlon processor
* 8x CD/DVD-ROM Drive
* 1 GB free hard disk space
* Windows swapfile
* DirectX 8.1 (included)
* 32MB Direct3D compatible video card with 32-bit color support and
DirectX 8.1 compatible driver
* DirectX 8.1 compatible sound card
* Keyboard, Mouse

RECOMMENDED:
* 800 MHz or faster Intel Pentium III or AMD Athlon processor
* 256 MB RAM
* NVIDIA GeForce2 GTS, or ATI Radeon 7500 or faster video card.

SUPPORTED VIDEO CARD CHIPSETS:
* NVIDIA GeForce4
* NVIDIA GeForce3
* NVIDIA GeForce2
* NVIDIA GeForce 256
* NVIDIA TNT2
* ATI Radeon 8500
* ATI Radeon 7500
* ATI Radeon 7200
* ATI Radeon
* ATI Rage 128
* Matrox G550
* Matrox G450
* Matrox G400

The Real Story:
You actually need at least a 1 G processor, and a minimum of 512 Mb RAM, along with a fairly decent card in order to run MW and a bunch of mods. I actually have 384 Mb RAM and an okay graphics card. It does a reasonable job, but I have to turn off most other processes in order to be able to play relatively smoothly.

This review (though written in 2002) gives a realistic assessment of MW's systen requirements. Now... it depends on how old your computer is, any computer made in the last 2 or 3 years should be fine)

wel from the sounds of it my current pc wont handle it, however (as soon as i can get a job :( ) i was planning on getting a new pc simply to play oblivion, so i get get it to play in that. maybe get the entire elder scolls series for it :D

EDIT: the main thing im worrying about is loosing my save file. if i get GOTY on xbox i can keep my old save but if i get the pc one i must start from scratch. or must i?...

is the xbox save compatable with pc? basicly if i transfer it to the pc will i be able to use my xbox character in the pc versio of morrwind. from what ive heard the 2 versions are almost identical so it may work... any ideas?
