I have a few questions, for anyone who might know, about the nature of an Elysium. In this game, we're told that an Elysium is the domain of a powerful vampire, and we are not able to draw weapons or use Disciplines when we enter one. We can feed, but only by finding a willing vicitim (usually via seduction). We're allowed to use Bloodbuff, but only to pick locks, and you have to start picking the lock before you activate Bloodbuff. There are two areas in the game that can lose their Elysium status. If you are cruel to Mercurio, he will attack you when you bring him Astrolite. At that point, his apartment building cease to be an Elysium and you are free to use any means at your disposal to dispatch him. Then there's the Ventrue tower. Elysium throughout the entire game, until you decide to bring LaCroix down. Then, as with Mercurio's place, you become free to use any and all means to kill his guards and destroy his Sheriff.
So... What is an Elysium? Is it just some arbitrarily chosen nuetral ground, where disciplines and aggressive actions are considered a breach of etiquette? Or is there some magical property to an Elysium which makes it impossible to use disciplines or launch an overt attack? This game makes it seem like the former is true. If that is the case, how then are we to know for certain when we've entered an Elysium? I didn't see any "No Disciplines Allowed!" signs posted anywhere.

Yeah but why is the pub in which you can meet Nines an Elysium as well? If it was Cammy etiquette, would the Anarchs use it then? And as Mercurio isnt a vampire, why is his place an Elysium as well?
I think its just one of the unlogical things in the game. Probably invented to keep the player from doing stupid things to characters which are essential for the main quest. Sort of an "invincible" NPC area. I mean, Gothic made all essential NPCs invincible, which was very unlogical, as the player had the strength to defeat them (once you switched off the invincible flag).

And while we're at it: Combat-areas are as unlogical as Elysiums, because whilst you are not allowed to kill innocent people in a Masquerade-area, you can kill innocent bystanders in a Combat-area, even though killing them would be forbidden in an Masquerade-area.

Yeah I agree, I may have misunderstood his question, I mostly was refering to what I thought the PnP version worked.
I really don't think there is too much logic in the way the game protrays it but more for a Gameplay/Entertainment value.
