Is it just me, or are my characters not getting feats when they level up?
I.E., I've got a 9th level rogue. According to the manual, they should get toughness at 5th level and Point Blank Shot at 6th level. Well, my Thief has neither.
I'm playing solo class characters, no multi-classing.
So, are the feats chosen randomly, and you don't get all of them? Or is the game not giving me feats when it's supposed to?
Ultimately it's not a huge deal, I'm 60% through and the game seems beatably without feats. It's just kind of annoying to think I'm not getting what I should.
Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Here's how it (probably, and according to 3rd edition d&d rules) works:
You get 1 feat at lvl 1, another one if you are human, and 1 feat every 3 lvls...(lvls 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27, 30)
the numbers printed in the booklet seem to be a "priority list"....so "rogue 5" means a rogue would get this feat as its 5th feat. Be aware that only the class at the "critical" levels counts... so you could be rogue only at the "feat levels" and only get rogue feats...
hope that helps a bit.

Thanks, that makes sense. My 9th level elf rogue has 4 feats, and my 8th lvl human monk also has 4. So I guess my characters are progressing as normal.
The only anomaly is Jariel, who only has 3 feats at 8th level despite being a human. But I guess that's just a quark of him being a pre-made character.

Jarial is not the only anomaly - Eadred (the stoned Paladin) is as far as i know the only Paladin who has the Cleave feat. That was the reason that I dropped Corran d´arcy and kept Eadred from then on as Cleave is very useful for a Paladin also, if you don´t want to multi-class to Fighter or Barbarian.Joylock wrote:Thanks, that makes sense.
