Post Approval?

Post by Acleacius »

Ok I just made (tried) a post in Redemption to answer a question for help, once I hit Post, it said if the Moderater approved my post it would be listed.

WTH?
You guys have to approve each post from members now before they show up on the board?
Please tell this isn't some new Fasist policy. :(

Hopefully this is this some bug.

I checked and my post didn't show up immediatly, as usual.

Edit, ok this is just Weird, this post shows up imeadiatly.
Trust me, most of the names I have been called you can't translate in any language...they're not even real words as much as a succession of violent images.

Strange, I haven't noticed such feature.

We don't approve posts before they can be seen so I don't know why you can't post normally. Which thread is causing you the problems?

Edit: I've approved your post. I think you should be able to post normally there now but if you find you still can't post normally in the Redemption forum, send me a PM and I'll look into it further.

Never happened to me before. Could you post a screenshot of what this notice looked like?

EDIT: I've tested the page at the Vampires: TM- Redemption forum and this is what I found at the thread when posting a new reply.

''They say truth is the first casualty of war. But who defines what's true? Truth is just a matter of perspective. The duty of every soldier is to protect the innocent, and sometimes that means preserving the lie of good and evil, that war isn't just natural selection played out on a grand scale. The only truth I found is that the world we live in is a giant tinderbox. All it takes...is someone to light the match" - Captain Price

As others have said - we do not have an "approved prior to post" policy, so if you experience such behaviour form the board, then do tell us.
However do so in a much more calm tone and don't go ranting about "fasist policy" and what not.
You have made numerous posts at this website, and thus you would know that we do not use such a policy. And if any changes to the rules/policies are made, you can see them in the announcment forum.

If you persits to have problems getting your posts shown, then let us know in which forum and which thread and we'll look into it.

*snort* That qualified as a "rant"? He didn't swear, it was 26 words long, he used a sad smilie instead of an angry one and he misspelled 'fascist'... Don't fly off the handle, man.
"Be thankful you're healthy."
"Be bitter you're not going to stay that way."
"Be glad you're even alive."
"Be furious you're going to die."
"Things could be much worse."
"They could be one hell of a lot better."

Stay on topic please.

If anybody else experiences this problem, that posts aren't shown until approved, then let us know because it isn't intended behaviour.
But otherwise - stay on topic.

The problem should be fixed now...both for the Vampire and Lionheart forums...if anyone notices the problem occuring still (either in those forums or any other) please tell us... :)
And it was indeed an unintentional bug.

"Edit: I've approved your post. "

Thanks. :)

"However do so in a much more calm tone and don't go ranting about "fasist policy" and what not.'

I was calm, but sad and cerrtinaly not ranting.
The message I got specificly said, "my post must be approved".
Imo this could only come from a technical issue or a social structure change.
I covered both.
Appoligies you were offended.

"The problem should be fixed now"

Thanks, tp all that helped sort this out, for me and anyone else whom experienced the problem, inlcuding testing and resolving. :)

Edit
Also I didn't mention which forum, as I thought it was any post if it was social change/mistake or a technical issue.
mr_sir and Ravager seemed to have figured it out. :)

Same thing happened to me in the Lionheart forum just the other day...and my first post here at Gamebanshee too! :(

Anyway I tried posting again today and it works fine.

If the original post is sitting around in some moderation inbox, feel free to delete it.

Lionheart was one of the forums where this "bug" was caught, so that should also have been fixed in the same bearing. At the time it was found in the Vampire and Lionheart forum, but so far we haven't heard of other forums where it happened.
