Maiden Gamer new to forum

Post by PostModernBeat »

Hello, I'm new to this forum and just wanted to present myself. I have been gaming (especially pen and paper D&D) for years and years. I'm looking to chat with fellow gamers and converse with common intellectuals.

Why thank you! I appreciate that. I actually have a question for those D&D people.

I am in the process of creating a Sharakim bard and I wish to perhaps devise a weapon that involves using cloth as a sort of defensive/perrying device. Does anyone know if such a thing exists? I can't seem to find anything.

I've never played D&D so can't help you but have you tried asking in the D&D section? I don't know how much traffic it gets but someone may read it and be able to help :)

Such a specific question is likely better posted in the Pen n' Paper section or the D&D section.

Edit: ahhh mr_sir beat me to it.

Hi, welcome to the forums, PostModernBeat. :) As for D&D, I never touched it before so I can't be of much help here. :(
''They say truth is the first casualty of war. But who defines what's true? Truth is just a matter of perspective. The duty of every soldier is to protect the innocent, and sometimes that means preserving the lie of good and evil, that war isn't just natural selection played out on a grand scale. The only truth I found is that the world we live in is a giant tinderbox. All it takes...is someone to light the match" - Captain Price

Hello and welcome. :D I'd love to help you, but umm, dunno what the "Shakarim" thing is, never heard of it before. I did send you a PM though, that may give you some help. ;)

Welcome to the funhouse, hope up won't run away from us :D
And He whispered to me in the darkness as we lay together, Tell Me where to touch you so that I can drive you insane; tell Me where to touch you to give you ultimate pleasure, tell Me where to touch you so that we will truly own each other. And I kissed Him softly and whispered back, Touch my mind.

Well, you can't get more common than our intellectuals. There's a mud-wrestling match this afternoon at 4 between Bertrand Russell and CE, while tomorrow morning I'll be teaching Advanced Basketweaving for Dadaists 101. In any case, welcome! :)

You rang?

Welcome to the board, PostmodernBeat. I am not much of a gamer nowadays, but I qualify as a common intellectual.

Russell is a hard guy, also in mud...I don't think I can beat him in mathematical logicism, nor in phlegm-singing, so I am considering a bikini-contest.

Welcome. I'm a gamer. I'm not so confident as to point myself out as a common intellectual, though.
If I asked, would you answer? Its your problem. Its a deep, deep problem. I have no way to ask about that... I have no elegant way of stepping into your heart without tracking in filth. So I will wait. Someday, when you want to tell me, tell me then. -Bleach

Ah, well, much thanks for the welcome. After I had posted I realized I should have presented my question in a different section.

What is this about bikini/mud wrestling contest? I'm sure we will all win in our own projection of pixelated goodness.

Couple of warnings are in order:

First, do not, under any circumstances, feed the Weasel. He is lonely, and will cling.

Second, Drinking is your friend. Embrace, and it shall embrace you. Possibly in the form of Guiness of some spam related incident.

Third, stay in line, and you will not be fish slapped.

Lastly, come see me about your personal toga. I do all measurements by hand, and gaurentee satisfaction... Just do not sue, and we will be fine.

Welcome to the ward, and please enjoy whatever is left of your sanity.

Welcome, PMB, to the bizarreness that is SYM. Bikini-wearing fish who mudwrestle basket-weavers...just a sampling of things found here in the past, and things certainly yet to come.

Check in is 11:00 AM GMT sharp. Bring a pencil and some Pepto-Bismol. State your straightjacket size at the door on your way in. Don't forget to feed the bunnies. :)
