Picture of the year
Usually I don't like "funny" things that circulate in e-mails and on internet and this is only funny if you have a black and ironic sense of humour, but I got this from a colleague in Libanon and I felt SYM was the right place for this:

Assuming that I understand the intended humor, I don't think it's "subtle" at all. Why take a photo of people whose faces are covered by veils? It reminds me of a scene in a Marx Brothers movie in which two people are sitting at a small table for a romantic dinner and they can't see each other because there's a very large floral arrangement between them. I could appreciate humor like that when I was six years old.
I hope nobody thinks it's racist to see humor in something like this.

Hehe, now these kind of pictures I can appreciate
I think that besides from being funny when looking at it in a harmless way, it has a clear critical core in it too (presuming it's a set-up), but not the usual crude and flaming criticism that normally gets launched on muslims. As said, it enjoys a good share of subtlety
(...)
Hmmm, though now that I look better at it, it could be a normal picture after all, something serious, no set-up meant as a sneer. Still, funny as hell.

It is the politically incorrect Muslim version of a guy taking a snap shot of hotties?

Is that because it's the easy way out?PostModernBeat wrote:Like any other, I could rant about whatever ill morals the creator of such a comic piece however... I most definently prefer having a sense of humor.

Why can't that be funny?Greg. wrote:That is what I was thinking...

For those of you who don't get it, read VonDondu's and Gwalchmai's post above.
