difficulty

a quick question as I can't seem to find an answer anywhere: how does difficulty influence the game (except the double dmg part)? is there more xp or more gold or more anything?
if not what is the use?

The use? To challenge yourself :P There's isn't any kind of extra reward for doing it on a harder difficulty setting.
