Aerie, Jaheira, or Viconia. Guess what? I'll pass. I've played the Aerie romance all the way through (sets up an interesting sequel), but her goody-two-shoes attitude makes me sick, especially when she starts with the 'my love' crap - and I'm a Paladin for Pete's sakes! Jaheira? Pu-lease. I couldn't get rid of her fast enough in the FIRST game. One more 'speak your mind' and I'll try to find a way to feed her to the trolls. Viconia IS a hottie (she have some kind of make-over from BGI or what?). I held on to her as long as I could. When she turned on me AGAIN the 'morning after', I thought 'okay you blue-skinned *****, don't let the door hit you...'. It was the only reason to keep her around and I just couldn't take it anymore. I guess Keldorn had the right idea.
If I'm a God, I should be able to get something going with someone else, right? How about Lady Irlana? Now THAT looks like a woman. How old do you think Garren Windspear's daughter is? Hey, the guy owes me big-time.

ROFL!!! Doc, I must admit, I like the way you think
But, at least you men had choices The best we can do if we don't like Anomen is to make up dialogue with the other men. (ignoring the lesbian options) I've already made some for Edwin, and well Minsc is made for that kind of thing:
The tried and true:
"Is that a hamster in your pocket, are you just glad to see me, or has Boo fallen down that hole in your pants again?"
The sad:
"Somehow because of crackers placed in my bedroll, Boo was lured my way last night. Now, I've spoken to Jan, and he swears he's had nothing to do with this, before mentioning something about a Griffin and running off. I'd like to know exactly how Boo ended up in my nightshirt, requiring YOUR aid in extracting him?"
The Kinky:
"Is it true what they say about a man who isn't afraid of wearing make-up?"
(Referring to that blue face paint of his)
I'm sure you men can think of interesting and stimulating dialogue for the other women you meet
Edit: Mr. Sleep: It may not be this last post which makes you look dodgy

@Doc, I trust you're not this...discriminating in reallife, or we'd have a hard time believing you ever entered into a solid relationship.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Since I am evil, I had my eyes on Viconia and that "Ho" Drow princess.
Yet, way back in the far reaches of my dark soul,I truly have the worst/best desires for Bhodi.
Now there is a challenge!
Do you think someone could write that in????
Don't buy her a keepsake locket.
Unless it still has a neck in it.

Doc does have a point. All three ladies are sort of damaged goods... All three will whine (in their own way) incessantly and dump you the minute you get sick of it. All three will voice doubts about the romance right up to the end (though some more than others). All three are all over you as soon as one of the others tries to talk to you, yet all three leave "advancing" the romance completely up to you.
Are there no easygoing, carefree, good-natured women in Faerun? If I was a Halfling, I'd go after Mazzy. If she was available, Imoen would make for a far more pleasant romance...

My paladin tried the Jaheira romance but she dumped him after some dudes kidnapped her and my paladin refused to pay the ransom.
My evil jester had the hots for Viconia, but that evil b**ch is nothing but trouble. She has mood swings like the Golden Gate on a windy day.
Aerie is such a whiner. So insecure and high maintenance. I sent her on her way back to the circus faster than chikitta fastpaws. I'm sure Uncle Quayle will find her another suitor.
Now Nalia would be an interesting romance option. There is something about her.. I wish she would respond to my advances
But I agree with Doc, that noblewoman in Trademeet is HOT!

I had no idea how many of us out there were, well, frustrated. I too considered Nalia (maybe it's the whole Drew Barrymore likeness). I'm kinda surprised there's not an option with her. I mean, she LIKES slumming, right? Not to mention how she'd REALLY be helping the needy. As for me being discriminating - am I really asking so much? I'm starting to think I could make things work with Phaere. And Zeyk, ironically, I just had the whole kidnapped thing with Jahera too (which I haven't had happen every time). I was disappointed the guy barely scratched her, but boy was she pissed! That was great.
All I'm asking for is honest, stable, woman. Don't I have enough issues? Please, I don't need to hear about life in the clouds, keeping the balance, or how you butchered a family of farmers. Lovely.
And brother, I ain't gay, but if I were gonna play both sides of the net it most definitely would NOT be with Anomen. What an annoying sissy. Give me Keldorn. At least he seems to have a nice place (though I'm not fond of it being next to the prison).

"I think a lot of people forget about the whole Imoen being your sister bit."
/politically incorrect statement
Incest is the game the whole family can play tho!
/end politically incorrect statement
This boggled me as I played through BG2 the first time:
I'm a dorf.
She's a human.
How does this fit into the genetic scheme of things? I mean, let's face it, if she's my sister, she'd have some nice facial hair goin' on, and if I'm her brother, well, I wouldn't be biting kneecaps!
The only real connection between the protaganist and Imoen is the Essence of Bhaal, which she gives up, so if you choose to take the mortal route at the end, that connection would be gone.
I'm pretty sure Sarevok makes a veiled reference to Imoen "longing for someone out of reach" or something to that effect. There's that nicely ingrained Incest Taboo (which is pretty much a universal one for the most part. Let's not get hung up on the obvious exceptions, like feudal Europe...) To make a believable romance, both the protaganist and Imoen would have to work through that whole social taboo.
But I'd rather deal with social issues than romance Aerie (FLAKEALERTWOOPWOOPWOOP!), Jaheria (YOUR FRIENDS JUST TRIED TO KILL US! This does not fall into the "You turn me on baby" category...now hit the road!) or Vic (Space Cadet with the attitude of a dominatrix...nothx!).
That's just me tho.
Mazzy would make a good canditate if it wasn't for Patrick. Given her character, I doubt she'd be open to romancing so soon after Patrick's death to be frank, and even then it might still be the "Getting over the Dead ex that was possessed by the Shade Lord" routine you'd plow through...
Nalia would've made an excellent choice, especially given the option to say "You're suggesting a marriage of convenience..." after clearing the Keep. That could've worked the "Convenience to Real Love(TM) (aaahhhhhhhhhhh!Itsn'tthatcute?)" angle nicely.
I pity anyone who takes the female romance option with Anomen. Valgyr would've made a much better choice - the brooding young man who had to kill his only family to close the cycle that haunted them for generations as opposed to, well, Anomen.
I'm a romantic and all, but you think killing mindflayers with cloudkill is cheesy, you haven't seen some of his lines...
Edwin, naturally. He just has that twisted demeanor that would make for a very interesting (and possibly very humorous) romance. Korgan as well (if you've had him and Mazzy in the party...rofl...)
Haer'Dalis would have been a MUCH better choice over the lot really. Fitting with the class and persona, and could've been quite well done with a bit of style and flare.
Let's not forget DORFS DON'T GET NO LUV (except from Phaere, which was just deliciously ironic...)

Imoen is not your sister, she's just the closest thing you ever had, growing up together and all. I don't see how a little Bhaal essence would disqualify her. The whole taboo on "inbreeding" is because of an increased chance for genetic deficits. Imoen does not share any genetic material with you, just Bhaal essence. I doubt divine essence is subject to inbreeding...Originally posted by Aegis:
