Red Object Words

Post by BrillOShea »

I entered an Ayeleid ruin SW of the Imperial city with a few Welkynd stones high up on pillars out of my reach. When I try to grab one of these, the name of the object appears in red. My hand is still white, so it's not like I'm stealing anything.

If you've been here...
Any ideas how to grab these items?
Any ideas why it's in RED?

Thanks

Have you just used a Telekinesis spell? ;)

If so, change your current spell to something else!

Anyway, the best way to get welkynd stones that are out of your reach is to shoot 'em down with bow and arrow.

Some welkynd stones are awkwardly located, and if you shoot 'em you may find they just drop down behind the pillar to a place you can't reach - or even see. For these, you need to stand sideways-on to them, so that when you shoot they fall to the side, onto the floor, instead of behind and unobtainable.

And I still can't get it to work. How do those work anyway?

Thanks!

LOL! I figured! I had the same problem once!

Anyway... you know how the Z-key works? With the hand pointer over the object and press the Z-key to lift/drag the item? Well, it's like that, only without the Z-key, and you can use it to drag items to you that are out of your reach with the Z-key pointer.
Cast the telekinesis spell at the item you want, place the hand pointer on the item and, pressing the left mouse button (iirc), drag the item towards you.

I haven't tried to do it, yet, but I understand you can also throw stuff long distances with telekinesis.

The item stays red until you take the telekinesis spell out of your ready-spell-slot, or until it is in your inventory.

HUH ? I'm mean "say what ?" !!
Are you referring to Telekinesis ??
I've been trying to figure out how to use Telekinesis for the longest time and having little luck with it, but I can tell you I just tried your suggestion re: Using the Left Mouse Button and all that does is grab my weopon (i.e. now I have a sword in my hand and still can't grab that which I want to move with Telekinesis !!??

Anyone wish to explain In Detail how to "properly" utilize this skill ??

Thanks in advance.
