Game says its not installed

Post by Minigud »

Hey guys, i have to keep reinstalling it to play and its getting frustrating! I have read the faq and downloaded the patch that should fix this problem but it does not. Nor do i find the right path in regedit so if anyone know what i can do, please tell me here!

You shouldn't need to have it installed at all. Once installed one time you can just copy the files to a different computer. No registry settings appear to be nessicary.

Although I haven't seen anyone with your problem, but I can give you some ideas:

-Do a full install *or* copy all CDs to hard drive and modify Baldur.ini
-Check Baldur.ini to see where it says it is installed

It would much easier to help with a screenshot of this error, though.

Oh, don't use Baldur.exe, use BGMain.exe or BGMain2.exe. That's your problem. :D

Nothing needs to be changed, I was thinking of a different problem.

The common problem of getting "Play" instead of "Install" due to a sloppy deletion of the game, maybe? :) Plenty of guys has gotten that one (me included), and it's a pain to have to scour the .ini after the correct settings.

I don't think anyone has had this problem before though. Seems like LordTerror got it all covered... did it work?
