Overview of Everything?? (Diamond ed) Save character?

Post by Pat_1_1_1 »

So I bought that Diamond version of NWN, which means I actually installed: Neverwinter Nights, Shadows of Undrentide, Hordes of the Underdark, Neverwinter Nights Kingmaker , ShadowGuard, and Witch's Wake Remastered.

I think I will take approximately forever to play all of them so I will be happy for months. But I wish I could read an overview explaining how all those modules are different. (I tried some web search and no luck.) Has anybody here written an explanation?

NWN lets me "save my character" separate from saving my game. Will I use saved chaarcters in those expansion modules? I don't plan to play online so I wonder whether saving my character has any point?

Use one character for the Original Campaign, then start a new one for SOU and use this character in HOTU as well as it continues on from SOU. Then use a different character for Kingmaker.

The OC is its own story, as is the Kingmaker.
SOU and HOTU are designed for the same character as HOTU continues on from SOU.

"Save Character" with original NWN???

Mr. Sir I believe there's never any actual reason to "save character" while playing original NWN (unless I was testing my own DM mod?) Am I right maybe?

The only reason there is to save your character is - well if you want to save your character.
This is because it is mostly done with importing to another module/game in mind.

So no - there is little to no reason to doing it in the middle of games, lest you want to backup/save your character (outside the game progress).

Would there be some utitlity program to print out my saved character so I can make records of progress? That would be nice.

I would like to see that. Or a way to check character stats from outside the game itself. Are there any apps to display character info from outside the game?

There is a character editor type...thingy, called 'Leto', that you can use to view your saved characters ( and edit them, if need be ). I have it, but I haven't figured out yet if it has a printing function.

You can find Leto here: Leto: HOTU compatible.
