Unseeing Eye Cult (Spoiler) bug

Post by Lazigothi »

My wife plays on a computer next to mine. When she did the UE quest, she slayed the Unseeing Eye with the relic. When she goes to the top floor to confront Gaal, the Unseeing Eye shows up. The battle text says "Unseeing Eye," as well as the pop up when the cursor hovers over him. When she accesses her bio, it also lists "Unseeing Eye" as among the creatures she's vanquished. This didn't happen with me, and we have the same game installed. If this is a bug, why to her and not to me?

Did she return the relic after killing the Unseeing Eye but before returning upstairs?
Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocre minds. The latter cannot understand it when a person does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses their intelligence.

She did. She was able to destroy the Unseeing Eye twice, however, getting double XP.

Where do you have to return this rift device??

I was just there yesterday, and I too, killed UE in his layer, and then I took the piece upstairs to GAAL.
So where do you need to return this device...?
I have to go downstairs again??

Thanks.

That definitely sounds like a bug. Do you have the official patch installed?

No, with due respect, I was referring to Lazigothi. It's his thread, and while I appreciate that you're having a problem, it may not have the same causes, and should probably go into a thread of its own.

Since I have SOA and TOB installed, it's the patch for TOB from Gamebanshee only that was used. We have the exact setup installed on both computers.

I think per forum rules, I could answer this if it were its own thread not previously discussed elsewhere. I would imagine, though, that in getting the rift device, the answer would be self evident. I can see otherwise if certain things were different.

Definitely sounds like a bug, then. I assume you're running identical flavors of Windows. Since I haven't read of it anywhere else on this board over the last 6 years, I'm afraid I can only suggest living with it. Sorry.

Meanwhile, I would suggest you both install the ToB bugfix file here. Details can be found by clicking on it.
