Definite Spoiler! Demi-lich in Watchers Keep Bug

Post by Oneiron »

The Demi-Lich on the 4th Level of Watcher's keep just down the stairs from the githyanki lair has a terrible scripting error. It respawns every time you kill it.

I personally am not going to take advantage of it because it is just too easy but, I figure there are some people out there who will.
Here goes:
1. Lay some spike traps at the top of the stairs inside the doorway (2 is probably overkill but, that is what I used).
2. You might want to move your main character out of the line of sight to another part of the lair but, I suspect it doesn't matter.
3. Send a member of your party down the stairs (equipped with boots of speed) and move towards the demi-lich. As soon as the demi-lich attacks, go back upstairs (you have to wait until the message reads "demi-lich attacks <character>" it usually will after a second or two. The thing doesn't immediately try to imprison.)
4. The stupid thing will appear at the top of the stairs, trigger the traps, and it will die.
5. Collect the 55000 exp, the garnet gemstone, & The Dagger of the Star +4.
6. Save, Pocket Plane, rest, repeat the whole thing as many times as you wish.

I only did it twice, just to test and see if the glitch was repeatable. I must admit, I am tempted to abuse this glitch as it is worth so much experience (and money from selling extra Daggers of the Star) and it poses virtually no risk. I'm certain it will be useful for parties that are a little weak in levels at the moment and need to power up. It's a lot more time conservative than shooting Fire Giants from the walls of Saradush. :)
