I recently decided to complete the game with a trigger happy fellow as my character, which all went very well and funny, untill i got to the Oil Rig.
My problem is that i would really like to kill the whole lot in there, but these guys in there are tough, and i am having a hard time making ANY progress in there, so i was wondering if you had any advice.

Nuke 'em!
You might want to try and take them out one at a time, provided you're not playing with a melee-only character. A gauss rifle or the pulse gun should do the trick, just don't get too far away from the exit grid. I've only given you general tips which apply for any difficult combat situation because I was never that crazy to attack them all.
I mean, they're all equipped with either YK42Bs, M72s, Vindicators or Super Sledgehammers, and when you confront three or four of those, they're capable of taking you down in a two or three turns, depending on your level.

What do you want?
- A donut.

If you use the "terrain" to your advantage it is possible, but they are - as said - hard opponents so I usually don't bother killing each one (individuallyWoozaii wrote:I recently decided to complete the game with a trigger happy fellow as my character, which all went very well and funny, untill i got to the Oil Rig.

But you have to use the corners to cover behind which makes it a long process, and if you have a "sniperish" character, then, as always, aimed shots to the eyes, hopeing for a blindness or insta-gibbed.
Also make sure you use either the YK pulse rifle, or if you have the random encounter weapon (can't remember the name) as they are the potentially most deadly weapons towards powerarmor, and the short-ish range of pulse rifle is no problem in these tight fights. This however is made more difficult if you have a party with you - although Sulik with the Superslegde or power fists can make mincemeat of the tincans, although he dies relative easy as well being in meele and them carrying thoese big guns.
But basically - I rarely take on the entier base (anymore) and kill them all with the FEV.

Go in with 5 teammates. Sulik should be on charge and have the highest level armour with a nasty machine gun. Cassidy should be on "on your own" and have the gauss rifle with lesser power armour. Vic should have a Gauss rifle and be on "stay where you are" with lesser power armour. Have the sniper perk and fast shot and use the Lowest AP pistol you can find. With is setup and a couple otehr NPC's you can take down 6-7 a round. Psycho is your friend.
