Cult of the Unseeing Eye question

Post by Jennifer »

Howdy! I belive I just finnished the quest, but I wonder if I can go down in the Beholder cave somehow? I got this rod part from those guys that lived and died and live and died, over and over again, you know?

So I brought this part to Gaal, I think his name was, and he attacked me. Then I killed him together with all the guards, and the Unseeing Eye himself. So I returned to the Temple where I first got this quest, and everyone was happy etc.

But I see that there is map for this Beholder dungeon, so I suppose I could have done something else to enter, yes? How if so?

Thanks in advance.

Spoiler - highlight to read ->
Spoiler
Instead of giving the rod to Gael, you'll be asked to retrive the second part of the rod, by somebody near the Lich tomb who were once a member of the cult. He'll tell you that if you combine the rod and use it on the Unseeing Eye to destroy him. The second part of the rod is in the Beholder caves under the Cult's hideout. - So basically - you took the short way out.

The best being, if I recall correctly,
Spoiler
Dragons Bane +3: nice halberd, +6 versus dragons, which could come in very handy in your travels.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

And the gauntlets of dexterity which set dexterity 18

But have already gained far more optional experience and items than a honest lawful good roleplayer (who wouldn't give his word to help this evil cult) would have gained. The game is easily solveable without getting all items and all XP.
