Okay, so I get this game CE, and start playing. I immediately swith to hard and frequent mobs as I always play games on the hardest difficulty for fun. A few minutes cures me of that and I switch to infrequent mobs, as another mob shows up before you can kill teh first. But I level up a bit at the shacks and make it through the sewers into the first town. Hooray! I am playing a magic user.
OMG I go into the tomb and ... Seriously. Everything in thsi game makes you cough. The guy whop made it wnet cough happy. Well I plug through it anyways and get to the beast having to reload several times along the way. I am using the Fire WAnd you get for a quest to take somewhere. BEst weapon I have seen so far. Unfortunately it takes like 5 hits to kill stuff with it. I obviously can't spam spells at this point. Anyhow, I get cheap and lure the beast back to teh ladder and shoot him.
Okay, on ward!
I make it to the gates and I'm like you gotta be kidding me another quest. So i head out to the lake..........dundundun......20 Mushmen. WTF?!?
How do you kill 20 mushmen? Fireball igjures maybe 2. I have eight fireballs. Umm. COugh. Cough. Cough. The stupipd elves won't help me. How do you play this game? I mean it is very fun, I read the reviews and was like what are these guys smokin. It is very good. It's just seems unreasonably hard. I'm not sure it would be any easier for a fighter. How does a fighter take down 20 mushmen? Jeez, I could see 10 maybe and that would be hard, but twenty? Is the only way to play this game to break the economy early to get infinite fireball?
Should i do other quests before going to the elf city to level up?
How high should my arcane magic skill be? I have been pumping INT and doing the minimum AM because I wanted to get some other classes and their extra learning bonuses before pumping AR, but now I am thinking I should have been pumpin AM. Any help on building a mage type character would be much appreciated. Any help on getting past twenty mushmen would be greatly appreciated.
