Which version did you buy?
Which version did you buy?
Just wondering what version everyone is buying and whether or not you would rather have gotten the limited version, if you bought the limited version if there is really that much difference, and if you got the strategy guide is it very helpful?
I got the regular one. Chances are, given my history with games in the past 4 years, I will curse this one and shove it into a corner to collect dust within a week or two. Why pay more for a limited edition or guide? I already blew $200 just to get it and the video card I needed to play it.

As a financial planner and card carrying member of the "cheapest dudes alive club" I, of course, bought the standard version.
The whole idea of "collectors editions or limited editions" bugs me to no end. Don't get me wrong - if you like the fancier boxes, cloth maps, action figures, or whatever - be my guest and go with the limited edition. Its just the whole idea that companies market this crap as "collectable" that rubs me wrong. IMHO the truth in advertising act should force the publishers to call these editions what they really are: the "make extra money for us" editions

Games *have* become more expensive but the cost of production also has increased.
In regards to the regular version, I'm curious about who bought the cd-rom version, the dvd, or the direct2drive ( downloaded?). I bought the dvd version so that I wouldn't have to switch the cd's in/out while installing the game.

limited ed.
I got the limted ed. only coz play were selling it for same price as pre order bog standard, the extra bonus feat that my characters get is usefull, allows u to get more rare items early on. But otherwise unless your into extras (e.g. maps figures rings music disks and videos) there isn't much special about it, other than u do get NWN1 + all expansions if u don't already have it!

I got the standard version.
But I wish I had got it with the Strategy Guide - for the simple reason the Manual is such a pathetic little thing with no details on races or classes to help you plan your character. I like things written on PAPER!

My manual is 180 pages and includes all of these things. What sort of manual did you end up with? In the near future we'll have information on classes and such available in our [url="http://www.gamebanshee.com/neverwinternights2/"]Neverwinter Nights 2[/url] subsite, so you shouldn't need to worry about a strategy guide.

I bought the Limited Edition, of which the only good thing about it is, it's one DVD. I love that, and am meh about the rest. I also bought the strategy guide, I always do that for games that are rpg's and I know I'll beputting in a lot of time into. I never read the walkthrough's untill I've played the game, I buy it for all the extra stuff, classes, monsters, itms, etc...
