{SPOILERS} Locations of Ore - 16 So far

Im playing through the game a 2nd time, and decided to go ahead and screenshot every ore location I find. I'll update as I find more.

They should be in order as I find them, but just in case:

Clanhold1 = Ironfist Clanhold. I went there before the bonegnasher lair.
TrollCave = Troll Cave that you find the blastglobes in.
BoneLair1 = Bonegnasher Lair
EyeLair1 = Eyegouger Lair Level 1
EyeLair2 = Eyegouger Lair Level 3

There's a ore vein in Embers undergrund place, there you find Tomas (?).

Correct. I simply have not gotten to that point yet. I just now got Sandra Jerro, and wiped the gith wench out. I now have Sand, and am going to investigate. I'll get that one up sometime today more than likely.

Hm, 5 attachment maximum. So, here are 5 more.

With the 10 ore locations I've found thus far, I have been allowed to upgrade my soldiers to the best weapons, and best armor. So, I guess the rest are used for...well, I have no idea.

EmberWell = Well in Ember. Behind the Rope.
GoblinCaves = Goblin Caves. Door in Ember Well. Ore is near Duskwood Area.
CrossKeep = Crossroad Keep's Tunnel System, on your way to fight Garius.
HighCliffRoad = On the way to highcliff to recruit the lizzy men.
TrueNameMeeting = You meet with Ambassador of Lusken, this area.

I could have swore there would be on in the Gem Mines, but for the life of me, I couldn't find it. If there is indeed one there, and someone can get a screenshot of it, It'd be much appreciated.

Guys,

I've also seen Ore as I've been adventuring. What do you actually DO with it?.

I haven't got the game yet but I assume you can use it to make items/armour/weapons with the right feats (like in NWN1 + expansions where you have the craft armour/weapon feats)

Wendersnaven - Once you have Grobnar speak to the 2 lunatics in Port Llast and get the map, you will end up here.

MountGala1 - Fire Giant Mountain near Ironfist Stronghold. Follow the path to the left when you get the chance, and you'll see it.

MountGala2 - You'll come to some prisoners. Buncha giants passed them. To the right of the path leading upwards on the far side of this "valley".

DragonsLair - Big Red Dragons Lair off of Mount Blah Blah.

Nolaloth1 - Nolaloths Area. I think it's right at the beginning, near the world map zone. Dont really recall perfectly, since i"ve slept since then.

And, 1 more for now. This brings us up to 16 ore locations so far. I've only needed 10, so, I dunno what the heck these are good for. I suppose if you missed some earlier in game...

Nolaloth2 - Nolaloths Area. Near the Crystal Heart.

I have now beaten the game twice,so, thats the end of them. Might have nissed some but I doubt it will be many, if any at all.

There are actually two in Ember well. The one behind the rope, and a second almost all the way through the spiders at the back of the cave.

The area you described is NOT Ember Well. It's the caves that connect Ember Well to Duskwood Forest I think is the name. And, It is in there, screenshot and all as GoblinCaves.jpg

Got a couple of questions does anyone know how many Ore vains it takes to get an upgrade and how many we can get?
I have had 2 upgrades now and they say they need more Ore.

I found this list in chapter 2 and while I believe I have found most of them up till now, I am obviously unable to go back and verify, the only one I know I missed is behind the rope in the well

Last when you say the road to Highcliff to recruit the Lizzy's is this from chapter 1?
You seem to have it grouped with things happening in chapter 2 maybe 3 (since I have finished 2 not sure).

If so does this mean I should have chosen the make peace with the Lizzy's tribes to have them as recruits?

When you are out looking for allies, once you go to Highcliff on the map, you will get something on they way. Lizzies attacking some humans. It is in this area that the ore vein is in.

Also, somewhere in one of my posts in this thread, I have how many is needed to get the best armor and weapons. I THINK that it was 8 total to get the best armor and weapon upgrades. It's definately not more than 10.

Ahh clear so its a Chapt 2 map and I did see the 8 total you mentioned earlier.
I was wondering if anyone knew how much Ore Per upgrade, I should have been more clear.

Its not that important have my second upgrade for Weapons and Armor, plus gone back for the 1 behind the rope in the well and still short.
I must have only had 6 at the time and missed another one.

Outside question:
When you do finally get the keep, do the ore deposits that you found earlier in the game (there's probably at least half a dozen that I found in Chapter I) still count?
After I recruited [what's her name from Old Owl Well], the first time I talked to her, she said she would "take care of it." Very next time, I got a buttload of Ingots.
Anybody know for sure?

Yes. You get an ingot for each vein you find, which is why you got so many from Calindra.

HighCliffRoad.jpg How do I get there???

Hi m0rb1d,

Nice job with the .jpg pics of the ore locations! I am not sure that I found the one on the road to Highcliff and am not sure if I can return to get it in Act 3. I jumped from CK directly into Highcliff with no stops. I noticed on the .jpg you posted that it says Road to Highcliff on the minimap and it also show what looks to be two red jump points.

I do not remember this. I got a mission or something from Kana about possible trouble in the area where I had to fight Batha and ended up after the fight diplomatically getting their agreement to help against a common foe. I returned to CK and had a representative from the Lizard Clans in the basement. I went back looking for that ore deposit all around Highcliff even down on the beach and could find nothing.

I just hope that I have a save from back then to give it a retry until I 'get something on the way'.

Your .jpgs are a major help.
