importing character HotU

Post by Rass »

I finished SoU as a ranger level 13 and now I want to use that character in HotU.

I saved the character just before the final battle in SoU but when I start HotU with him he's still level 13. Is it in any way possible that he could start as lvl 15 without editing files etc?

HoTU should automatically bump you up to level 15.... :confused:
Just go through the initial parts and you should get the option to either level up manually (recommended) or just have the game do it for you.

It's no flaw or anything like that. If you start your character in HotU or import a character between lvl 1-12 you'll get boosted to lvl 15, but if you're lvl 13 or 14 you don't get boosted. It's not much of a problem since if you're lvl 13 or 14 you'll get 500 xp for the weakest monster and about 700-900 xp for avarege monsters. Fx. if you're lvl 13 and kill the three drows attacking the inn at the start of the game without any companions you'll get like 12000 xp for them
Did I just roll 1 on a save vs. death? DANG! *>.<

Odd...
I imported my level 13 druid in from SoU... and she was boosted to level 15.. :confused:
I wonder if it varies with class or if there is something strange in my game.

@Rass,
yes, HoTU is very good! It far exceeds NWN1 (which I never actually finished), and it is much better than SoU too.
The story is well developed, the henchmen have personalities (make sure you pick up Deekin :D ), and there is some good dialogue.
Added to that, gameplay is simply fun :D

It's easily the best game I've played since I went through BG2 and PS:T. :cool:

Yes, i think that HoTU was a far better game thanthe previous two and i plan to go through it again, once i've finished my current game.
I picked up Deekin as a henchman and boy, he has a huuuuuuge personality for such a little guy! I particularly liked the odd comments he mutters to himself as he writes his book. It may be sad, i know, but i missed him when i accidently lost him and couldn't get him back! :laugh:

lol! You aren't the only one :D I found (due to a bug) that I could not recruit him in Chapter three because I had not fired and rehired him in the previous chapter. Upon realising this, I redid the entire grand finale of chapter two. :o
